Re issues absolutely spoil rare records. Why anyone would make do with a £6 lookalike copy is beyond me.

Nev, I think don't be so jive is a great dancer. Went down a storm at hamburg on the sat night. Always thought this record epitomised rare soul. The recent re issue has killed it slightly, but no doubt this will always remain a special record.

Just a quick mention that I was briefly involved with the soulboy film as a dancer (before fecking off back home due to is being so terrible) and they didn't give a shit about getting the dancing or clapping right. It was shambolic. I'm not one for sitting through any old shite then being content with an ok outcome. I thought Soulboy was a disgrace in every possible way.

Ha ha! I know, total turn around but had to make up for my early criminal error of slagging something I've not seen! Re bags, they are awful things. The only bit I didn't like was the young souls bit. They have got it about as wrong as you can get it.

Just watched it. 5 out of 5. Loved it. Really great overview of the scene. Makes me want to go to a big nighter! A really genuine, hearfelt documentary. I believed everything that everyone said and really felt their passion. Bravo!

Top quality funk tunes were dismissed as shite back then and now are main hall biggies. But the issue now is everyone has jumped on the "funky soul" bandwagon and the quality has gone. Some truly appalling funk records go for big money and get plays. It's been severely diluted in the last few years.
