Motown label ?
Could it be a Benelux pressing or something close to that ?

Epsilons
Aside : the 'original' BlueBelles and Ex- Starlets (4 Chi girls : Liz Walker (Dynetta Boone), Maxine Edwards, Jane Hall, Mickie McKinney, Jeanette Miles) had first their name or image, depends how one sees it, stolen by the Epsilons. That with dear Patti Labelle in it. As it was them 4 Chi girls who recorded as the BlueBelles first record and 'HIT' 'I sold my heart to the junkman' on Newtown. Only it was Patti & her Epsilons who lipsynced on Amercan Bandstand and not our 4 Chi girls. Patti and her gang got sued and seetled for a deal. The 4 Chi girls got $5.000 each but as 'plea' deal never got to use the BlueBelles name anymore. They tried to force it with their fab overlooked 1964 'you're just fooling yourself' on Rainbow as the Original BlueBelles. But they got caught. Rereleased as the Bracelets on 20th Century.

Don't play anymore
The tune is fantastabulastic ! Eternal class-ic. That Correc-Tone copy look is the kill ! My copy is never far sitting next to Gino's and while I play them no sides get spared. The flip side although not 'northern' in basic or commercial terms is immense as well !

FWIW this is also true for me. And it still sounds 'as fresh' to me as it first did. You gave it more than a try. Bless you Carol +

EXACTLY. Will find the time to take another more dedicated "religious" listening to it. Another firm favorite true soul hero coming... WOW ! Waiting with great expectation !

Got my copy of 'no mad woman' early nineties on a trade deal. Picked it up 'blind' as it's Jock Mitchell RIGHT ! Can't be bad. Opened the mailer, put the record on the turntable's platter and loved it from first the first note. Before tintenet nothing was audible with a 'click' and was astonished to hear Stewart Ames 'King For A Day' on J&W for the first time at a friend's place using that very same Jock Mitchell's 'no mad woman' backing track. My friend just back from the usa with that record amongst many was implying that the american dealer told him that 'Angelina, Oh Angelina' was on Northern soul wants lists. Replied to know as I've heard it and that I hate it. But as he is into Pop-Corn (we're in Belgium ) he picked it up for the 'king for a day' side. Told him about that Jock Mitchell using that same backing track. That to this day I love. Stewart Ames singing still not for me.

Patti and the lovelites
Rarity of the sound is what brought us to seek our music outside of the "mainstream". As a crate digger excitement of the discovery record or the long wanted one is the drive. As a collector who listen to his records and don't keep those I don't like, no matter how rare, in vogue or 'in-demand', my ears and eyes is ALL that tells them appart being a 'keeper' or not. Had the LP of the Eight Minutes once but couldn't be bothered as I was happy enough the few 45's I have of the group. Gave it to a friend who will enjoy it much more than I could. But when I first heard the Cindy & the Playmates 'a portrait of god's love' I was instantly seduced. And I care not so much for the 'don't stop this train' side that is a good club sound regardless. The singing may be similar to you. Not to me. The backing track is the same. And although the mix is similar it is not the same. The Cindy & Playmates mix is much louder, punchier with 'Oomph' and "vibrant" than the Eight Minutes backing track. None is superior as they are not to compare. A bit like apple and pears. Compare 'take my love' on the 7" and on the LP if you want. Is this a 'different strokes for different folks' situation in regard of the mastering differences between the Cindy & the Playmates with the Eight Minutes ? Not only a good versus a bad mastering job at stake ? Maybe. And like the Maxell cassettes old advert with Desmond Decker's board subtitles of his 'Israelites' hit ; me ears are alight ! if ever someone wandered if I was not ear impaired 😉 In all honesty 7" singles always had a bigger place in my heart than 12" LP's. Although I always had both. And still do. But from a listening point of view, as in "audiophilia" if you will, those two very different format are not to be so simply compared. Both have their merits and flaws. Yet both require the adequate phono gear to benefit their merits and diminish their flaws.

Patti and the lovelites
Writing too fast just before bed time. Vigilance and critical state of mind is down due to the pillow appeal. Copying dully like a fool what seemed strange to me from discogs. OK, you're right and I'm evidently not. More likely some sort of deal in production/distribution between the Perception Ventures, Inc. and Jim Porter.

Patti and the lovelites
The Lovelites version presents the high frequencies upfront with the guitar tempo clear with shine through strings in place while the Pat & Pam mix pushes the low frequencies upfront with the drum for tempo. All the breaks remain pretty similar though. The Lovelites vocals are more relaxed and sultry while Pat & Pam are more crude.

Patti and the lovelites
Both Pat & Pam and the Lovelites 'I love you yes I do' use the same backing track. Although their mixes are utterly treated differently for altogether another ambiance or 'movie scenery'. As for what's the connection between the release of the Lovelites (commercially only on their LP though...) and Pat & Pam who knows, the composer's name C.B. Allen could be a clue... The Lovelites 'how can I tell my mum and dad' was issued in September 1969. If the acetate is prior this means it was recorded around the same time... Before the LP that was in 1970 ! On the LP the credited composers are C.B. Allen & Johnny Cameron. On the Pat & Pam 45 whose date of release is unknown only C.B. Allen. 45cat. gives 1971 but who gave that date ? Why ? The name C.B. Allen for sole composer also appears on 3 other tracks of the Lovelites LP and also appears for the last Lock 45 release by The Spoilers 'the spoilers rap' produced by J.C. ! If Pat & Pam was first then J.C. added his name out of vanity on the Lovelites LP. Or if Pat & Pam came after likely C.B. Allen made it a vanity revenge thing and intentionally erase J.C.'s name. FWIW the Lovelites non 45 issued 'a certain kind of lover' also uses Diane Cunningham backing track but once again with a serious remix job making it barely recognizable without comparison. As for Cindy and the Playmates utter sublime 'portrait' and the average (IMO LOL but 4real) Eight Minutes 'I love you', Jim Porter and his labels Jay-Pee, Perception and Today is the connection.

Lorraine Rudolph RIP
OK, so that makes both 45cat & discogs discographies seemingly correct to this point leaving only the Lorraine Randolph 45 on Gemini star a ? mark. I've just replayed the Jetstream next to the Gemini star 45's and the vocal has indeed a lot in common. Just as it was pointed out on 'sirshambling's site. It's already rather intriguing just by the little name difference, now with a plausible release date in October 1968 to fit in a rather sparce discography...

Lorraine Rudolph RIP
No mention of her discography over the phone by any chance Paul ? As 'Kenb' reminded us rightfully with the wonderful site 'sirshambling' that her discography is not that clear nor definite FWIW... As is she the sole 45 lady on Jetstream ? Or did she record before as Lorraine Randolph on Gemini Star and even earlier as Lorri Rudolph on Tri-Phi or Loe & Joe on Harvey ? This with the aim to try and correct once an for all of her rather "different" discographies... In a way this could be a nice tribute to pay while adding the passing of her there too.

Patti and the lovelites
Well well well Russ, are you telling us that you're the proud owner of that acetate then ? 😉 Long ago played the LP in a shop and got so disappointed by that 'I love you (yes I do)' only LP track that without much of trouble I simply put back in the sales racks. Not much regret still. Even to this day as to my ears it's only a lovely tune without much vocal effort like Patti got us accustom to... I even enjoy better the 'hey stars of tomorrow' (sing along side) for flip. A guilty secret home spin of mine... None the less a very nice'N'rare piece of Patti and her Lovelites.

Initially with the very first pressing on Alteen 'where did he came from' is the 'A' side. Then on the 4 following Alteen variant pressings as on the Chess release 'I ain't got no problems' (that was the instant 'HIT' radio's pick) got promoted as the 'A' side. It became a local hit record. A low rider side ? Yes certainly ! Yet I believe that demand for it at such high prices lately, like now, compare to even a year ago comes from outside the usa. Like 'jumpers on the bandwagon'... If not rare (the Chess are rarer & even rarer not mint 😛) clean Atlteen copies are scarce.

Patti and the lovelites
My belief tells me that with the "northern soul" revival from years ago the 'get it off from my conscience' TOP 500 (is it ? 🐵) first took interest amongst the deep pockets returnees for whom a record below £100 is not of interest. If some dealers had the good idea to put it at £100 then it would become noticeable and/or enviable... Lovelites fan from my prime (not completist mind you) I never got my head around that 'git it off' side. Like many BIG northern sounds, not really soulful FWIW, aiming mostly for the dance floors. Evidently I got to realise to sometimes prefer the soul sides to the jocks sides and always flipped my records. And here the flip 'what a day' is WOW ! Could it be that ? An old £15 or about record on list in the nineties. Even cheaper before. Priced because it was played in the UK, then issued on Grapevine and the american copies not as plenty about as their other releases. Northern soul 'the return of the ugly' first shot @£100. Funky sweet floater's 'late arrival' second shot @£200 ?

No rambling on my behalf. You words were not of peace. Your side to the story behind that record revealing it all for the OP and the rest of the world or at least the few of us on here remains untold... Common 😃

WOW heard it and gave my opinion. Can that count for "knowing" it ? And I stick to my opinion as to what it is. Is that what you call garbage or you just use social media to unleash your frustration and be rude to people ? Educate and tell us what's the story behind that record and how much is it selling for. Researches were done.

Mis presses can be rare. Yet I doubt many are worth much in collector's circles. The one just like yours that sold on the eVilBay with 1 very suspicious bid at the starting price of £350 is "fishy". Even more so when the "right" presses on the Nite Owl label sold accordingly for what it is under £20. It's not even a "soul" record. Maybe a 'meh' R'n'B-rocker-jerker of some sort... Or if ever there's a new 'trend' amongst collector with deep pockets I might pull out my Johnny Sayles promo on Mar-V-lus mis press playing Gene Chandler for a good profit 😛

This was apparently what the traineys at the pressing plant were given to work on. Taking a spare printed label floating around and any template to press on a record with. One would expect that such items would be destroyed but my guess is that some took them test pressings home and they found their ways in record stalls decades later. FWIW from that same pressing plant of yours I have a labeled promo of Johnny Sayles 'don't turn your back on me' on Mar-V-Lus playing Gene Chandler 'think nothing about it'...
