  1. That's really sad, love his music.... here is a great interview with him.. RIP Gavin Christipher
  2. Hi all, here is my first Mix Cloud Mix, very proud of this one, hope you enjoy it! Malcolm
  3. seen allot of that, but thank you... what I'm really interested in is more 45'd like the one above.. bit of Eye Candy...
  4. Hi all, I bought what i thought was an Stateside Test Press some months back, turned out to be an Australian Bootleg. Shortly after I got the below vinyl 45, its an EMI (Sydney) test press, anybody else got releases that look like this? be interested to see... Mal:-))
  5. Like the crystal Clear side..
  6. Can't answer all that for you Russ, but I think you have to accept, he is us, how could he not be... How ever you were or are involved, it never leaves you, that's what everybody has always said isn't it.... This is a bit out there, but think of him as s mirror, to all the things you love and hate about Soul...
  7. Never seen an issue, as you say all Orange Promo copies...
  8. There is deffo a bit of Tom Jones in there at the start. But hey from a simple music lovers point of view, like loads of you I love this song, and although I would not pay money for this, Margie is 100% enough for me! I enjoyed listening to it... It was nice to hear that song in a different way... You would never try to re create the flip would you, you simply cant beat the desperate "Never Can You Be"..... nor that dreadful surrealist painting...
  9. Best theory Ive heard Kev.. re royalty purposes, assume you mean to the writers not publishers? FFFTG credits Ken Johnson / Talmadge Armstrong as writers, and the Lp only has one writing credit for 'The Graveyard Creep' that song being the only other track that gained a 45 release... there are no writing credits on any of the other songs on that Lp... the plot thickens... :-))
  10. Melvin Carter - Teacher of Love / Something Reminds Me / Peacock / EX++ £15 Beautiful copy, bar two small cracks on the run in, doesn't affect the play at all, but its there. Stafford Classic I think, and the Deep side is as good as the Dance side IMO. Post: £2.50 1st Class Signed for within the UK (Insured up to £50). If your outside the UK, just tell me where and I'll quote you. Payment: Pay Pal (Friends & Family) to: arkanoid300@hotmail.com
  11. slightly different cut on Graveyard Creep though Russ, when I eventually got the 45, I noticed a distinct lack of banshee whaling, as apposed to the LP cut... you need the Banshee in full effect I think :-))
  12. here is the original Tim Brown auctioned some time back..
  13. Just looked at the Lp mentions 'Few Feet from the Gutter' in the sleeve notes, so thats definitive. The Ascots from Texas are: Talmadge Armstrong, A.C Gillroy, and James 'Kelly' Duhon. With Arrangement / lyrics from Ken Johnson, production from Huey P. Maeux. Lp released in 78, I personally recon these tracks could have been in the 'can' for some time, they deffo sound earlier to me. Malcolm
  14. You are free to like and dislike what you want mate, I love it, but then I'm not really interested in going out much, doesn't strike me as a dance floor record, more radio / armchair...
  15. Always wondered why this didn't make their Lp, was it recorded before that came out? Actually 'colour me soul' says something like 1978 if I remember right, but I always thought the tracks on that lp were allot earlier....
  16. should need no intro, but any excuse eh...!!

  18. Nice vinyl copy, i should have been quicker...:-((
  19. the yellow, or Green as its been described Musette 45 from Lenni-Groves entitled 'Sweet-Sixteen', exactly the same as the orange release. I think its been called green cause some chap might have had it for sale on Ebay, and not corrected the hue of the scan he had up, deffo yellow.. Mal
  20. I need to check, but is 'Don't Stop' on the flip of original Colour world 45?

  22. is it the actual 45 on sale here mate? or just a reference for the song?
  23. On listening to those 3 again, Id go for Luther Ingram... got a bit more in the instrumentation, and his vocal is clearer overall.
  24. Betty White - playboy, or was that a Motown song? Don't have it any longer so can't check the credits, anyone?
  25. Can't see 'Age of the wolf' - Susan Coleman above... and you Gotta have Tamala Lewis - you won't say nothing... mal
