I remember a dealer / shop owner in Sydney asked somebody I knew along to a big warehouse in Fort Lauderdale in Florida, as she was good on the soul and funk stuff, from what I can recollect it was big deal for quantity. when she returned she told me she got one copy of every release she found, there were tons of multiple copies... job well done M

Talkin Bout Jody
Had that Eccentric Soul: Omnibus 45 box for Christmas, great releases in there, anyhow two of the songs mentioned Jody, my favourite is Darker Shades Ltd. - Trackin' Down Jody, anyhow then I keep noticing Jody in the title of lots of records, was this some sort of fad, was jody on US TV in the early seventies, does the name mean something like John Doe say. So who is Jody, and what does it all mean??? Trackin' Down Jody, that Bass.. Reminds me of the Dirty Harry music the one for Magnum force.... Mal.C

Pied Piper - A New Concept In Detroit Soul
I started a thread some months ago on tunes I'd missed, no longer being a regular at the 100 club, so these are it!!!! Wondered whether the 3. Gamblers Blues - Nancy Wilcox is the same as that acetate Tim brown auctioned some months ago, his comment on that disc was something along the lines of its unlikely to ever be issued or licenced, for one reason or another... Top Tips For 2013
your right it does, and strangely that was a tune that I think came from Craig Morer initially..
-
Top Tips For 2013
they must have 5 or 6 play tracks on that LP, including the Great 'Graveyard Creep' which is a different and far better mix / cut to the Jet Stream 45 release.. which is credited to the singer, not the group....Mal.C https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-b3lfpqkw0 .

Candi Staton The Source You Got The Love 12"
you're weird...
-
Candi Staton The Source You Got The Love 12"
dunno what you actually mean there mate, but he Uk chart release was not the original mix of this track, Sasha and others played it off the White label, which deffo emanated out of Eastern Bloc, I know this cause I bought it from there as it was getting its first plays... I'd think the 12' is pretty hard these days but not impossible. The chart release with the red poppy on the front was an inferior mix.. Mal.C

Candi Staton The Source You Got The Love 12"
This was originally a white label out of Eastern Bloc in Manchester, got played to death on the house scene, and the rest is History as they say... I'd ask around Manchester area as the original cut was the best by far. it's likely living in old collections... Sold my White Label years ago, wish I hadn't now.. mal
