  1. Noticed John Manship missed the Aussie 'Ember' release of Mr. Flood's Party - Compared To What. Worth mentioning because he went into all the other releases to build credability of the 45 he was auctioning... and he missed one!! I didn't think much of the rest to be honest, I love the Patterson Twins, but for £2k, that track doesnt move my mountain... the Kimtone record, sorry guys that was a dreadful track.. £2k to look at a rare label... Unexciting would be the best descriptive word I can offer... Pat Brown, great track, but folks have been saying the same for 20 odd years... I'd have flipped to get a copy back then, but it just seems old me now... The Uptights was the best record on that list, but fifty quid too much I thought..
  2. Carl Stewart - Ain't going back to that (Mercury) class record, remains very cheap... love Robert Lee & Exquisites as well, and Freddie Hughes always sounds fresh, great set mate btw, is Emory & The Dynamics 'Things That A Lady Ain't Suppose To Do' same 45 as 4 Dynamics? sounds the same to my ears, but I cant locate a 45 with Emory in the credits? why it's expensive I guess...?
  3. Hi folks, anybody got one of these? Sue Sleeve (Australian) as in the image below. not the 45, I have that, I need sleeves, in fact I need five of them in total, but I'll take what I can get. If you have any other Aussie Sleeves, I'm always interested, I have tons of spares I'd be happy to swap for ones I'm after. Pm me if you can help. Cheers Malc
  4. Makes my heart sink reading that list... absolute F*** sods... they will get caught, you cant hide a collection like that forever, there will be a lead at some point...
  5. must be made of solid gold! pip us the link, I'd like to see this!
  6. and it's gone to a good home, I really enjoyed opening that for its first time... you get that smell we all know, smells lush...
  7. I put Ernest Baker at £600/650 so that’s a good price I think... only other track on there I'd be interested in is Curtis Anderson, you never see it, so I guess you can’t argue with 2K.. Ikettes is a silly price, I’ve still got all my Kent Lp's, buggar three hundred quid, I'll play it off there!!
  8. Dreadful news, I’ve read you are physically ok at least Ted, stay strong.
  9. a 'House Party' from From Down Under, looks like this one was sold via Palings in Sydney, wierd cause that looks like it was printed on the label, not added after... anyhow Palings sold all sorts of stuff back in the day.
  10. Outstanding! Love it. Fits really well with the interviews that Colin Curtis has been doing in the past few weeks, talking to guys like ‘Pep’ about the beginnings of the soul scene here in the uk. This was and is an important record, with the likes of the Orlons 81, Mel Torme, Flamingos ‘Boogaloo party’ and so on.. well done Joel, great article
  11. yep, true, I've been busting your balls, and you know why... The above comment from me was too much, I put my hand up for that, I apologise. But I asked you for a refund, twice, and you totally ignored me. You can't have both ways...
  12. I did get mine, I havent played it, every time I look at it, just cant be bothered as it was such a pain to get...
  13. Brill interview, I was looking forward to this all last week. It didn't disappoint! Finishing with the power of Helen
  14. Thanks to Simon T for the scan. Nice one mate Malc
  15. More dreadful news, rest in Peace Chuck Jackson.
  16. surely somebody can help out with this? anybody got a Drifter in their collection?
  17. Dreadful news. Rest in peace Spencer Wiggins. it’s doesn’t get more ‘Northern Soul’ than this…
  18. Hi folks, can anybody help me with this. I need a 300dpi scan of Roy pollard / the drifter, a US copy, a blk issue or white demo will do, prefer white demo. need it for a carver thing I have, so needs to be 1:1. many thanks in advance malc
  19. Hi there, just the one Lp. The Choice Four / The Finger Pointers Lp / RCA / EX++ £15 (three stand out tracks, a really great slower version of Bobby Reed’s ‘If I Don't Love You', 'Finger Pointers pt1/2', and the brilliant 'The Women I've Been True to', in fact that's my favourite this week. ----- I prefer direct Bank Transfer, but you can pay by PayPal either Friends & Family or add the normal 4% fee. 20. Cheers Guys, opted for the half size Bookcase along the same wall, the 80x28x106 cm one, which fitted the 45's I had perfectly... BILLY does it again! lol
  21. Pm'd ya also
  22. Cheers Guys, looks great, comes in blk, I want something half that height, I don't think 'Billy' comes like that..
  23. Yep, that essential but God-awful boring subject that affects us all! I've a new house, and a new problem to solve. I bought a DJ bench thing from Ikea, great for LPs... So, I have another room with 45's in, but I need to make room in a corner of this one, for I guess about 1000 45's... see below pic. I want something that isn’t too high as well if I can get away with it... Any ideas for an off the shelf solution? pls excuse the pun... Malc This is the Ikea DJ shelving thingy I got... looks the business, great for LP's and 12's, except that top shelf for 45's, is 1cm too short to fit them....what’s ridiculous is that lady actually has a pile of 45's in the promo shot... stick with the record boxes kids!
  24. PM’d ya :-)
