Again this is fantastic, I played to a couple of my colleagues at work, who aren't soul fans but would know Curtis, and both didn't know it wasn't the original. It's good that people haven't been too precious about the idea, as an exercise it's really interesting. Now just post up the Tin Soldier clip, I won't be over critical, I promise. After that can we make requests??

Please post away 'Tin Soldier', at least it would get a fair hearing.

I think it sounds great, perhaps the horns could be more prominent. Also perhaps a Wurlitzer 200 Electric piano would be better. Although Rhodes have made piano's since the mid-sixties, the Wurlitzer is the predominent eletronic piano on most 60's recordings. Let's hope we can hear more 60's output.

Definately good tune for mod clubs, good bluesy dancer.

Amazing how the value of some discs rises without there being a particular demand, I checked Manship's 2nd edition guide (2003) and it's £40. I'm not saying it's not worth that, but I picked up a VG copy of an early Marvin Gaye 45, 'Never Let You Go' (Stripped Tamla) for £4.99 on ebay last week, £100 in mint in this guide!
