  1. CANT recommend? Or typo?
  2. As I mentioned in my reply, the talking gives the dancers chance to catch there breath and a few seconds prep for the next tune,so talking for me is essential, and a traditional up keep of the northern soul dj!
  3. I like the upgrade, looks and feels professional (if that’s the correct term) 👍
  4. The Terry callier was a bit rough for a starting bid of 450 quid!
  5. Personally I prefer the dj to talk/introduce the next tune, doesnt matter what they say or whether I can decipher it,and it doesn’t matter that they are telling you something you already know, importantly it gives you a few seconds to catch your breath and get ready for the next tune, sometimes fore warned is fore armed!
  6. Carolina soul must have a box of mint copies as he as been putting one out every couple of months for a while now, maybe one on eBay as we speak? Possibly message him for a offline copy?
  7. Clicked all the way through it,not worth having really!
  8. Incredible and mind blowing👍
  9. When I got into northern at 15 and starting going to allnighters in the mid 80’s,all the djs were showmen on the decks and mic,so for me the northern soul dj was my new pop hero, they were something that felt out of the sky! Full of mystery to how they had all these records etc….so in answer, I absolutely agree that if you don’t work the decks and mic then dont dj! A dj that doesnt talk ,well we may as well just put a cd on😂
  10. The picture above, not sure that’s a typo, but I reckon Dylan is correct on it being a pitch reduction.
  11. Could well be mate, but it seems pointless as it’s a fast tune anyway, would -2 make much difference?
  12. Just noticed this on jm’s why is it (-2 rpm) what does this mean? Is it specifically this record? Is it to do with the recording itself?
  13. Attractions was a bargain! Mint copy aswell!
  14. Short answer,no it couldn’t be a northern soul bside😂 it sounds like a modern band with an indie song, very unremarkable!
  15. Was Billy arnell tough girl a casino instrumental?
  16. SUPER RARITY,NEVER APPEARS IN THE WILD! NEVER TURNED UP IN ANY NUMBERS SINCE THOSE FIRST PLAYS IN THE EARLY 80’s BEST CONDITION TOO,STRONG EX (most would say m-) TWO GREAT SIDES £900 includes post
  17. What year would this be mate?
  18. Superb photos,really good👍
  19. Issues £250 and maybe £300 to £350 on the demos
  20. Very informative, and thank you for taking the time out to show us this info👍
  21. Yeah that makes sense my mate, well put👍
  22. Now that is a whole other ponder? First off…what is soul? Is northern soul just about “soul” and for me i dont think the northern soul would have survived out of the 70’s without these so called “not soul” or “it’s a pop song” wouldn’t most most peoples top 20 be made up of the likes of Dana valery….jimmy Fraser…liz Verdi? anyway back to subject, whats your thoughts on why with major labels there seems to be loads of demos and next to nothing issues in a lot of cases?
  23. Thank you for reminding me of the Linda Lloyd tune too….superb
  24. Would you say these were much rarer than the demos,I know the jimmy fraser defo is?
  25. The USA Columbia red issues where northern soul is concerned seem to be infinitely rarer than the various demos….why? these 3 off the top of my head….any more? dana valery liz verdi Turley Richards
