  1. very true Marc,I've spun the Lydia occonnor and Mary wheeler in a set in the past and they both did really well, but as of late that particular sound as taken a back seat...shame as I like the Lydia occonnor and the Mary wheeler tunes!
  2. I think around 2004ish it fetched a decent some, but it seems to struggle to get near the 300-400 quid mark now, although I think it's more than worthy of a 500 quid price tag!
  3. I've just recently got jd Bryant,I've wanted that record since I was a kid,but if the Eddie Parker was on offer on the same day it would have been a tough decision but I might have gone with the Eddie parker, just cus the tune gets me proper excited! although I'm very pleased with jd Bryant spinning away on my turntable!
  4. well put mate word for word!
  5. if this was my first introduction into northern soul I would have been running to get to an allnighter, this record to my ears is f**in awesome!
  6. I might be blind, but do you want any money for it mate?
  7. I sold a m- George lemons a while back and got 2200 for it,so I imagine 1500 quid for a ex copy sounds right, alas it don't crop up that often, probably the same for the other two....happy hunting.
  8. there always has and always will be a handful of records that achieve large amounts of dough, and if ever a record deserves to be in that list it is definitely Eddie Parker,it's dripping in northern soul,it really don't come any better!
  9. I like different kinds of music, but I've only ever been interested in collecting northern/rare soul, but I use the word collecting loosely,I chase a record until I've got it,and when I'm sick to the sight of it,it gets moved on...and so the carousel keeps turning! cos there's always another record to chase!
  10. are there many records that go above 5k these days? surely it's only the proven rarities that reach this figure and beyond, might be worth doing a seperate thread on this, just for the vulgarity of it!..haha
  11. yeah it had 4 good tunes on it..appriciations,Eddie foster,flirtations,younghearts...the ep goes for more money than the lp...crazy!
  12. you can't beat them soul supply lp' s,which one came with a ep...with appreciations ect....on it?
  13. fair play to the guy for wanting to cover a great tune, but I have to say it's a bit weak,I'm afraid it sounds like he's worked out the chords on a Casio keyboard and sung over the top it...there's no way that would have made it to vinyl! he probably does other hits at holiday resorts on a Sunday afternoon...haha
  14. probably this tunes raritie stops it being a big nighter sound.
