Certainly played at The Torch & The Highland Room - so pre-dates Wigan.

No Gavin it's "Just A Lidl Misunderstanding"
  8. Went to Deepdale yesterday - we played worse than a Stardust re-issue. How I love being a Wolves fan working in Preston.

Didn't want to upset you by putting the words modern & soul together - I know how sensitive you can be.

But there are no good modern records - only "broken ones" - your words not mine
  12. Always a favourite - Dickie Searling plays it quite often on "Cellar Full of Soul"

Quote "The 'under £20' night may happen before that" Do you mean people pay MORE than 20 quid for their tunes? Are they mad?

Don't you just love the cut & thrust of a good debate?

Makes a bit of a nonsense of your signature about all modern records Pete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. The Philly Steps Tom Moulton Remix of Yes I'm Ready is always the last record of the night at The Family Tree gig. Love it when the owner of the club asks to play one more before closing - eight minutes later they are still dancing - bet he wishes we still played two & a half minute stompers. Brilliant record IMHO.

Margie Joseph Lorraine Chandler Brenda Holloway
  18. Haven't got it myself - when I get two, I'll rip you off with the second copy
  19. Somebody listened to Solar this morning - didn't they?
  20. Somebody must have been playing The Traditions in the studio beforehand - "That's proper northern soul - innit"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. A record is ruined for me if it has the words Bill & Bush in the singers name
  22. Remember Ian Levine playing it in the Highland Room around '74 I think. Always found it a rather weak record - quite surprised it went huge at Wigan - not really got that "All Nighter" feel to it.
  23. Zola - King Errison Rosemary What Happened - Popcorn Wylie Cool Off - Detroit Executives None of the above titles are bad - in fact I love them all - they are just "different"
  24. "I'm Waiting" - Bill Bush - seriously dreadful - or do you want opinions on bad SOUL records 'cos I don't know what category to put this pile of poo in.
