  1. Problem with this one is the sound quality on the pressing. Lawdy, sack the quality control department at Brunswick records.....

Nor am I Bob, but it's the only Ando label I know.....
  3. Oh he still has it. It's certainly not poor, but I have heard it lots now. And ironically and horrible to say but we probably handled the claim for the Buffalo air crash

Philly I think on the Marlboros ....
  5. I know Andy Dyson had a spare a couple of years back.
  6. Chelmsford - you're kidding Russell!!!???
  7. Thanks Rob. It's up on mixcloud now https://www.mixcloud.com/steve-guarnori/sunday-afternoon-soul-charles-mintz-interview-5th-february-2012/
  8. Nice to see Garland back.....
  9. Thanks and yes very dance floor friendly
  10. No, it looks the same as the last releases on the label Bob.
  11. Benny Sigler was "reissued" if that's the word on Phil La on styrene (orig is vinyl) in the late 70s after Wigan plays. This one probably done for the NY Jamaican market I'd think? Is the B side the same as the Phil La one? My Phil La original copy has "A.Fenn" scratched in the deadwax. (hello Arthur!)
  12. Cheers guys, and Polyvelts also dug out the "other" Art Forms Ltd RCA 45
  13. Hope you can join me for some Sunday Afternoon Soul this Sunday 4.p.m on Solar Radio. Sky 0129 and internet at solarradio.com It's looking like snow so why be anywhere else? This month we've got some forthcoming Soul Junction releases which'll make you 'shake' for sure :....and an interview with legendary Funk and Soul singer Charles Mintz who talks about his career and we unscramble who did what, while I sit back in the studio cueing up things like "Give a man a break" and of course his definitive version of "(I'll come) Running back".....
  14. Not strictly correct though, since the old issues of Blues & Soul mag had page adverts with loads of badges. You could, if you were so minded walk up and down the West End plastered in the damn things without ever having set foot in a Niter....

CD only innit? Kent are putting it out on a 7 soon I read.
  16. Sad news. I wonder if we will ever get to see those Soul Train DVDs over here.

For "sensible offer" read "more than I'm likely to get on Ebay"

Think it was acopy of the Ham Movement on ebay. Think someone has "brought it now"......so we'll never know for sure.
  19. Yes I agree with you Bob. That's my view on this and I think it's a bit of a misnomer to talk about 1st and 2nd issues. It's a record that I brought as a largely unknown 45, at the time a few of the DJs were getting behind it, but certainly no real demand.
  20. So my copy of the so called "2nd issue" came from Soul Bowl circa 1982 as I recall.
  21. I am not convinced it is a second issue the gold one. I think the group or label did it as some form of sales gimmick. But I am not 100% certain.
  22. Errr, what's the difference between a pressing and a re-pressing? I know someone that takes ironing in, I'll ask her.
  23. I always liked Cracksteppin' "What are we going to do with this feeling" (LP track and 45). Vocal of "The Wind" I seem to recall...
  24. Yes agree with you on Starvue Gareth.
