  3. RE: Must be many moons ago...this shop is sadly closed for more than 15 years I used to drop in at USA Records in Paris whenever I took the family over there. Must have bought the Solomon Burke EP (+ Stevie Wonder's 'Love A Go Go' EP) on a visit in 1989 or 1990.
  4. Light blue US is original, dark blue reissue. I seem to recall it was first played on the UK club scene around 1970 (end of the Wheel era).
  5. A French EP ..... ... bought from USA Records in Paris many moons ago ..... ( .. Daniel Delorme; 50 rue de l'Arbre-Sec, 75001 .. )

  7. One for the 70's Philly fans ......... Major Harris "Ruby Lee" ......... I believe this is LP only .......... .... EXCEPT in BRAZIL ........ where it was released on a 4 track (33rpm) EP. ... HOW DO I KNOW ....... COZ I got a copy of the EP of course !!!! Mind you, if anyone knows of any other places where it escaped on 7", I'd be pleased to know about it. A remix of the track appears on the CD 'Philly Re-Grooved - The Tom Moulton Philly Groove Remixes'.

Betty Wright has been putting out great 45s for almost 45 years now ....... She proves that its still possible for an 'ol skool' soul singer to cut good new tracks & be successful.
  19. A few artists who prospered in the disco years ....
  20. The music that brought the world to its feet ........
  21. ....... One for 70's fans (+ they don't have many chain shops like this now) ....
  22. RE: As Chalky mentioned earlier, you can sit down for a little longer whilst listening to them at home. ..... I've got about 15,000 x soul / gospel / blues 45's ... but when at home, I put LP's or CD's on the stereo system & I can then get on with something else (posting here for instance). If I decide to play some 45's, then I have to stand next to the deck which is OK for 15 to 20 mins but then gets tiring -- no room for a comfy chair in the record room & the bed is always covered in records, books, mags, CD's, etc (you may have already guessed that I don't like tidying up & 'putting away').
  23. Love the mashed up version, it takes the track to a whole new place.
  24. Almost any cover version done by the Persuasions ...... they have done some great Motown covers ...... .... and some great Curtis Mayfield covers ......... ... The group do the Dells .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPlFakVwn-s This also has Persuasions input (& is done as the group did it) ...
