Import tax
The post office clear it through customs for you or I. They pay the import charges etc and then there is their costs on top, therefore £8. I don’t particularly agree with the fee but it would probably cost you considerably more to travel to say Heathrow and clear it yourself.

NEAL KIMBLE on TRC - BOOT?
Not booted as far as I was aware. My copy, which I no longer have, was I’m pretty sure on vinyl, the scan on discogs for issue and demo looks like vinyl.

Historical amnesia....
But the artist is credited and many I have corresponded with are eternally grateful as they rarely knew that their music was appreciated. Johnathon Capree has had the recognition but this topic was highlighting inaccuracies in the fun and games that came after.

Historical amnesia....
It might be about tne music but it is also about a music scene. The scene has a history and one that shouldn’t be forgotten. Those who have had an influence should receive some credit. Lets be honest, if not for this scene, the crate diggers, dealers, the Djs and the dancers, much of the music would have been lost or forgotten. I see very little pushing of an ego by those who have something to shout about.

Historical amnesia....
Our good mate Nick Stevenson (god rest his soul) had plenty of what we believed one offs, hated Djing and he also supplied plenty of great records for other DJs. He had a better sales box than most had Dj boxes. He isn’t alone. Plenty in the background with fantastic collections we know little about. But those who do put themselves up there, as one who has a great interest in the history of the scene I like to see credit given where it is due, be that as a dealer discovering or a Dj breaking the record. There aren’t many at the top of the table who shout about their achievements, usually the opposite. Those that shout I find usually have sod all to shout about really.

Lorraine Chandler. R.I.P.
Not a great start to the 20s with news on social media about the passing of Lorraine Chandler. Lorraine having toured here was very approachable and engaging with her fans. Was for a time a very active member of Soul Source. R.I.P. Lorraine and thank you for the music.

Historical amnesia....
Back in 2004/5 when Paul was breaking this, you knew who was playing what. There wasn’t that many nighters we didn’t all attend, nor soul nights. Lifeline had just started the year or so prior and the nighter scene wasn’t in great shape. The main nighters were all at Sheridans, Kings Hall. Everyone who was active knew who was playing what. It wasn’t the numerous factions we have now.

BBC record library
I would imagine the BBC had everything or just about everything that saw a UK release, at least up to the demo stage and also many that didn't even get that far.

BBC record library
according to figures recently the BBC Archives still has a massive collection of vinyl and CDs. There is little doubt it will have been pilfered from time to time or records getting lost whilst out with the various shows using them.

BBC record library
Didn't every BBC station have a record library? Manchester, Sheffield etc etc. Wasn't there a haul in Manchester of old BBC stock?

BBC record library
Phil Swern I think owns the company that provides the BBC's digital services. I listened to an interview once when BBC was beginning to think about digitising and he said he already had them all digitised. He has every top 40 record since the charts began apparently. https://www.longlivevinyl.net/phil-collector-swern-interview/

Hamitton Movement, big for 5 or 6 years? You can tell some of these never go anywhere.

Historical amnesia....
Sadly far too many are rewriting history. I'm forever correcting people, simply as I like to see credit where credit is deserved

SOUL FLIP RECORDS
Not saying the Lp is dodgy but Juno have sold bootlegs before.

SOUL FLIP RECORDS
couldn't find the label on company check

SOUL FLIP RECORDS
I have my doubts about any of them being legit, no credits, no rights reserved or license details, probably some copyright infringement with the logo.
