  1. Just read the sellers feedback. You usually get a good indication from that if they grade properly. I haven’t had one problem with any seller and I have bought quite a bit through there. One of the best places to buy, especially LPs.
  2. Bootleg hard drive you mean? No matter how it is dressed up he doesn’t have the rights to sell those tracks.
  3. Doesn’t look right to me, as said the run out is wider
  4. Record fairs seem to be pretty popular with them all over the country. There is a page for them, Record Fairs UK, you can sign up for a weekly list of events. https://sites.google.com/site/recordfairsuk/home
  5. Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul is graced with two legends of the scene who have a bout 150 years experience between them Both can talk the hind legs off a donkey but there is room for some music. Stuart Cosgrove, vast amount of experience and knowledge and as well as being a successful broadcaster he is now a critically acclaimed writer with his books on Black Music a must read for everyone with an interest in Soul Music. Guy Hennigan, legendary Dj from the 70s and of course the Stafford All-nighters, the king of the cover up and one who has discovered as many records as anyone. Enjoy an informative enjoyable three hours of music, chat and banter.
  6. Is Sugar Lumps the group or the name of the compilation?
  7. What Lp is it on? I don’t know an Lp by the Sugar Lumps?
  8. I don’t think the show was too predictable. Maybe a lot of info the mainstream MOR audience care little about but there was some good choices by Richard.
  9. Probably just a rumour unless its the recent test press. There is one in 5the Jobete offices as two sent to Motown, one for the labels vault and one for Jobete. The publishing arm, so I believe.
  10. But one of the three is from a different plant, a test press too
  11. Laurence about Ollie McLaughlin...
  12. From Laurence... Three acetates listed on DFTMC... Oct-65 [acetate]; 45 (M): CBMN 2993-NH1 [alternate mix] 12-Nov-65 [acetate]; 45 (M): CBMN 3228-NH1 [alternate mix] Nov-65 [acetate]; 45 (M): CBMN 3230-NH1 [alternate mix]
  13. I’ve got to find it now, it was something Laurence said about backing vocals
  14. I hope Kevin doesn’t mind, more info from Laurence
  15. I’d forgotten all about this, I commented at the time in Kev Spittle’s group on FB....I also saved the photo Laurence posted
  16. Frank Garcia gave the info on Facebook..courtesy of Kev’s Detroit Soul

  18. Whilst predictable to us, to a mainstream radio 2 audience it probably wasn’t.
  19. Dean Anderson is joined for a second time Lynne & Dave Girdwood.
  20. As it seems to be the time to celebrate 60 years of Motown I thought I'd give this a bump once more.
  21. If you fancy another listen here his my contribution to the celebrations, 60 (previously) unreleased gems.
  22. Soul Harmony Singles has Derrick down as the lead as well, nothing else.
  23. The prices above would suggest an increase in demand with the price rising from around £50 up to £99 with three recent sales over £80. The higher price would also reflect the condition as well don't you think?
  24. That's the selling price, postage doesn't come into it, that is what the record actually sold for. country of origin. It is probably, after an individual record list and a dealers website the most helpful and accurate price indicator. Popsike would be bottom of the pile. Postage is a necessary evil regardless of its point of sale. Popsike, soul source, facebook, the sales are all world wide, just because the postage may be higher from one country doesn't make the record worth any less. Given that the record was a UK release I would hazard a guess most of these are UK sales, the £99 even says the shop is in Essex.
