  2. Just looked, from your wants I have 19, 33, 34, 40...I have issue 30 somewhere too. Make me an offer, not after anything silly either. I have other copies 35 onwards up to 69 I think, some missing in between though.
  3. Those first 5 or 6 are the tough ones, paper before they went glossy.
  4. I have a pile of em...will look next day or so and get back to you
  5. Is it the only show or are others planned? London may be a struggle
  6. Where are the details of the show at the 100 Club? There is northing on the 100 Club site nor can I find out anything online?
  7. It is ok saying a dance floor killer but I don’t know anyone who has had the belief in the record to persevere with it. Everyone wants instant floor fillers and just drop other stuff. It has worked in the past and its had a good reaction at Lifeline to a like minded crowd. Even though the record has been around a long time it is still reletively unlnown to the majority who seem to want only what they know.
  8. The seller on ebay has had at least three copies through ebay
  9. Arthur Fenn the first I believe. Poke too, bunch of them from John Anderson. Ex Stafford play too.
  10. Lenny Harkins had one for sale at the weekend I think?
  11. It might help if you say who it was. It might be of help to others.
  12. It still sounds awsome over a system. 91...I honestly thought it was earlier than that tbh, surprised me.
  13. It was before Keele. Rob Marriott probably made it massive at the time. Brian Rae first though.
  14. I’m not sure the cd is legit, as said not all were Goldwax recordings.
  15. Chris King paid for the licence in good faith but the owner of Goldwax, Quinton Claunch didn’t own the rights to licence it to Chris as it was a Fame recording not Goldwax. I doubt whoever put the Torch one out got a licence from Fame either. So only Kent totally legit.
  16. No it isn’t
  17. Well I still love the term, despite it being hijacked somewhat of late. I personally couldn't give a fc8k what the divs say, it the generalisations keep them away then great. Neither do I explain myself to anyone especially to my divvy mates who haven't a clue...which is what I tell them, clueless.
  18. Much at all? Probably? It is a bit ambiguous your comment? I know of acetates that are 20/30 years old, played with frequency and still fine. All depends how you look after them.
  19. There is also a 200 count 7inch really useful box. Has no divider though but if only using for storage then it is fine
  20. I know dealers who use the really useful boxes with no issues. Obviously with them being plastic you don’t throw them about, plastic breaks. But IMO given the choice between plastic and card it would be plastic every time. I use them for Lps, 45s and cds. The carrying handle is the lid which is clipped on and I’ve never had a hinge clip come away or break. They are a very good product.
  21. Really Useful Boxes are about the size you are looking for, plastic not card, will last a lot longer. I have a few. https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b09_0litreXL.php
  22. Andy definately had a few copies, I remember scanning it, and the Darling Dears, and taking sound files. I seem to remember Andy’s came from the states, could be wrong. I thought someone had been at the stock before the rest were shipped to Aus. Again could be wrong, it was 8 or 9 years ago and I have trouble remembering breakfast some days.
  23. There was loads around a few years ago, someone got all the labels stock. I agree with Dave, marmite and the price.
  24. I have all the Detroit City Limits, twice....Shades Of Soul the complete run, have some spares too.
  25. Press Release: Robert Montgomery “Love Song About You/I Love You So SJ540 Release Date: Monday 30th July 2018 Robert Montgomery is a Singer, Songwriter, Performer, Producer, Keyboard and Organ Instrumentalist, who began his music career in his early teens jamming with local bands in his small hometown of Rome, Georgia. The most notable being “The Sons of Aries”. Performing their own blend of rock, soul, and jazz, kept them very busy throughout the southeastern states. However, they never gravitated to recording any original material and eventually disbanding. It was then that Robert began to write his own songs. One such tune was the soulful “I Need You Girl,” a song based on personal experience with his future wife, Emma. By now in his early 20’s Robert was an aspiring solo artist. Hooking up with a crafty local businessman named Jeffrey Jackson Jr, He entered the studio and recorded “I Need You Girl,” using guys from his former group who were by then called ‘Chain Reaction’. So the song was released on Jackson’s label, Crescent Records, but due to a shoestring budget the 1000 copies pressed were poorly distributed and the song never really achieved any great level of success. Following 12 months on the road with a group called Villaruz, in 1978 Robert moved to Atlanta. Following an invitation to join a band he’d heard rehearsing as their keyboard and organ player, Robert began a short tenure with the Michigan funk group “Ripple” who themselves had moved to Atlanta upon signing with GRC Records. Ripple recorded several hit singles for GRC including “I Don’t Know What It Is, But It Sure Is Funky”. Followed by the seminal album “Sons Of The Gods” for Salsoul Records in 1977, which featured their perennial disco/hustle classic “The Beat Goes On And On”. During a later period of reconstruction by Ripple’s band leader percussionist Brian Sherrer. Robert used musicians from Ripple to record four self-penned songs as a vanity project which remained unissued, two of which have since been released as a Soul Junction 45 the modern soul dancers ‘Time Of The Day/Take Me High’ (SJ537). While a third track, the excellent ballad ‘Love Song About You’ made it’s initial debut as part of the popular ”We Got A Sweet Thing Going On “ (Volume 3) cd compilation series to great acclaim, following requests for it to put on a 45 we have duly obliged placing it back to back with Robert’s remaining previously unissued track the more dance orientated “I Love You So” complete with girl backing singers. Thus in doing so, we have now completed the trilogy of Robert Montgomery’s recording output.
