  1. Yep, quite a few mate don't do the leg work.
  2. I think the term came about because many today don't do the hard work many of us did. Hours and hours spent scouring record boxes, lists, taken a punt on something blind. Studying the labels, the credits the deadwax. Nowadays most seem to just buy a set, scour paylists and buy anything that appears popular. Imagination seems to be a no-no with most afraid to play anything different for fear of not getting a booking.
  3. Have to say it was a fantastic show with some outstanding unreleased tracks.
  4. Yes it'll be on a bit later today, will post the link in here once I've uploaded.
  5. If it was YouTube may be it was a doctored label?
  6. That nasty girl version is Cresa Watson/Rita Lee. Was reissued later for the scene and the instrumental is original as far as I am aware, Men from Macon.
  7. 1964 RCA press. The I is to signify their Indianapolis pressing plant.
  8. Thinking of Malham Tarn near Skipton.
  9. Nice one Steve, must have a trip sometime. Hopefully the lens will be here by the weekend and hopefully I can get out for a couple of hours on Sunday.
  10. Where do you go to take these Steve?
  11. But supply is there it would seem as there has been a copy for sale online every week practically for quite some time. Wants for it are answered. It is a vastly distorted market for certain items. Everything about this record suggests it should be relatively cheap yet it is taken out of the reach of ordinary collectors because of greedy wannabe djs who seem to have little knowledge or knowledge magination and simply follow trends rather than influence trends. It has to be them as this is far from rare, it is around in large quantity and I would imagine all collectors who want this have it or will not even bother at today's prices. Some people should just sit down and learn something about the market before parting with these daft sums.
  12. Someone paid £375 just over a month ago, looks like all brit buyers too.
  13. Discogs is very good actually if there is a history, you can see when and how much discs were sold for. There is more to discogs than the current listed price. Take out the extremes and you get a good idea, usualy the brit dealers who are the extremes too. Below btw is the sales history of this disc on discogs, there is a few extremes too..... 2017-03-29 Near Mint (NM or M-) Not Graded £375.00 £375.00 Comments: Yellow / green label original.Top condition in storage for the past 40 years. 2017-03-05 Very Good Plus (VG+) Generic £179.50 £179.50 Comments: super glossy vg++ a few very light scratches only perfect for dj-ing with 2017-02-26 Near Mint (NM or M-) Not Graded £155.00 £155.00 2017-02-18 Near Mint (NM or M-) Not Graded £200.00 £200.00 Comments: Lovely copy, one light mark (visible with strong light) makes it Ex+/M-feint sleeve rub on one label 2017-01-26 Near Mint (NM or M-) Generic £399.99 £399.99 Comments: EXCELLENT condition. Yes mate, sounded fine
  15. Taffy had something like 700 copies a few years ago. Some desperate people out there.
  16. Well hopefully I can contribute a bit more in tne future as I've just got myself a 100-400 mm lens, looking forward to getting out with it.

I would imagine it is the cost to them to get the releases and the mark up? A double Lp of northern classics ( Not that I would want a double Lp of Northern classics mind) was £33 to you and me....it is becoming a joke and a rip off. I bought one Lp, a reissue of Susan Phillips "Soft Sexy Soul". The original is impossible to get so had to settle for a reissue but this was 20 odd quid for 9 tracks. But it isn't just RSD, most dealers seem happy to charge 20 for a "demo" of a new release (7") when it should be cheaper than an issue, no colour used, some charge £20 for an issue and limit the number. It is just about making money first, music second.
  19. Another essential compilation, Ace/Kent just keep coming up with the goods. This one quality throughout as you would expect and again a mine of information in the booklet.

Have to agree with number 2. I was looking through some RSD releases yesterday and I couldn't believe the prices for some. It just seems like a good excuse to fleece us all.

It belongs to Dean Anderson, he has the original acetate. It's Leo McCarthy as well.
  22. and people pay to watch this? what a crock-o-shite. I've no desire to ever hear Frankie Valli ever again and this doesn't even get close to FV.
  23. One definately did and Andy's eventually, might have been a little less than 800?
  24. Last couple I've seen were £800 and I listed one at £800 for Andy some years ago. Fabulous double sider.
