  1. It was an acetate played by Rob Marriott "If You're Trying To Hurt Me" by Leo Costa. It was a Studio 76 acetate.
  2. The members according to Discogs are Archie Powell, Eddie Powell, Irving Haywood, Jerome Powell and are from Washington DC.
  3. Soul Discography, a follow on from R&B Indies has the label as Cincinnati, Ohio but there is nothing in R&B Indies apart from Solid Soul in brackets under the label name and nothing on the Ohio Soul Recordings site. MBS definitely New York though.
  4. The same as the other boots from Soussan, George Blackwell, Salvadors etc, PB in the run out. The boots are pretty rare though. I've seen a list of Soussan's from I think 1975 with this on for a fiver so was a pretty rare record then when compared with other items on the list.
  5. Just had a browse through the odd book, Archie Powell who also recorded on Miradon and later with the Presidents on Sussex a member of the group on Miradon. So definitely two different groups.
  6. Any info on who were members of the Ascots on Miradon and MBS? Have them down as from Cincinnati, Ohio, or the label at least?
  7. Maybe Marc...as you say Am. Playboy and Spindletop the same group, Mir-A-Don, dunno.
  8. I would assume Tal-Fran music is/or part Talmadge?
  9. Talmadge Armstrong is one the credits of Few Feet so I would imaging the same group, especially with it being a Crazy Cajun production.
  10. The one with P.B. is the bootleg, came from Soussan.
  11. Certainly after the Mir-A-Don, M.B.S. releases. Crazy Cajun production so would put it around the same time as the Crazy Cajun lp. Someone said it was supposed to be on the LP, dunno how true that is?
  12. Wouldn't mind the Bobby Hutton myself and Van McCoy was a bargain IMO.
  13. I have a chuck henley if you wish to make an offer
  14. I don't have one now but had copies over the years and none ever jumped.
  15. But if you are a seller then the pound dollar factor will be of a benefit if selling to the states. I rarely if ever consider the pound dollar exchange rate when buying, they aren't an investment, it is my hobby. If the price is right and I have the funds I will buy, not wait until the exchange rate is more favourable. Postage wise, it is no different for US buyers as it is around a tenner tracked and signed for from the UK.
  16. Think it was Gilly who said when in Detroit they got into a lock up with boxes and boxes of Ric Tic, Wingate etc. Evrything was there for Ric Tic apart from Fantastic Four 'Can't Stop Looking'.
  17. Some don't mate. Too many out to exploit the market. I have been looking at a couple of Lp's on discogs....everywhere in the world up to £35 for a mint sealed lp, here UK dealers want £100 for Vg+ down to £75. The will never sell when you can buy for less than half the price. Most US dealers will also put a low price on the customs if you ask as well. You can see what everyone is selling for on discogs, you can see the sales history but UK dealers for some unbeknown reason price themselves out of the market.
  18. My buying is getting less and less from the states but I do buy from discogs as the prices still better than uk dealers. Something that is £75 to a £100 is often as low as $25 to $40 from the US . With postage around $20 it is still a massive saving on UK dealers who it would appear have no desire to sell their records. Gradings, No one worse than UK dealers for overgrading. M- here is often vg+ from the states.
  19. when was that Phil? Andy had a handful but virtually nothing since, all keepers in collections. In demand again as well.
  20. December on ebay it sold for over $900 https://www.ebay.com/itm/181961588189?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It was £300 or so when there was a few copies about. I remember Andy Dyson getting a few and they went straight away. If he has had any since it is the odd copy only, quite scarce now.
  21. First release before Dynamo for this one.....
  22. Hi Roburt I can scan them and digitise if you have no scanner?
  23. Are you able to scan these? If not a loan of them so that I can scan. Photos like this need preserving for posterity
  24. Cheers Dazz. I've asked about a fair bit with this but no one seems to have much idea, some had never seen the Canadian one before.
  25. Pat Hervey With The Tiaras And Art Snider - Can't Get You Out Of My Mind Canadian President I've seen plenty of UK copies and a fair few US copies but rarely seen the Canadian one. Any idea of a price?
