  1. I think that is cheap for a record that is far rarer than many records that achieve far more on auction. Maybe it isn't in vogue enough for some as they don't hear it at every venue.
  2. I haven't heard the sound file yet but would have to agree with Dave. But if something like the Constellations is £1000 and this plays ok then who knows if someone who wants it badly. The whole market is all over the place with people paying mint prices for records far from mint. This is a genuine rarity, rarely up for sale and alway in-demand, wouldn't surprise me if it fetched £1k.
  3. George Sharp played George Pepp first. Pat Brady for Timmie Williams. Lonette was Guy.
  4. It would be good if the source was quoted in the first place, wouldn't lead to misunderstandings.
  5. There is an interview with the man by Pete Lawson in one of Pete's mags. The mags can be downloaded from my site.
  6. 15 years? He has been top of the tree since 86/87 nearly twice as long.
  7. Its unreleased, the beige one is a boot as far as i know. It isn't Audrey either, more than likely Sharon McMahon who wrote it.
  8. Whilst on the subject of planning allnighters, would it be possible for (some) promoters to put a little thought into this and avoid ridiculous clashing of all-nighters. The allnighter crowd is an ever decreasing number of people. To say this venue plays this and that venue plays that is really pretty irrelevant as we are all after the same crowd. For the good of the scene as a whole it is time promoters got their act together.
  9. First played by George Sharp who sold it to Roger in the 90's. What else is with it?
  10. This is it I think with Rod's reply.
  11. There are a couple of topics about this record on soul source, Rod Dearlove giving a detailed reply of its discovery.
  12. and then there is packaging on top according to the PDF.
  13. There is/was a demo in Mansfield There's probably more than people realise but it is a keeper, still stupidly rare.
  14. all in this pdf..... https://www.mailroom.qmul.ac.uk/Docs/80243.pdf
  15. I would have thought if you had paid for special delivery, declared a value and they accept the package to deliver then it would be deemed suitably packed? If not they shouldn't accept it? A mailer with card stiffener(s) is industry standard. Is there anywhere we can read the disclaimer if not in a jiffy bag?
  16. I've not read the topic since page one or two...have I missed owt?
  17. Chalky replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Take a look at SoulStacks who sell a lot of new stuff.... https://www.soulstacks.com
  18. If he had the tape recordings and he converted them etc then I guess he might but somehow I don't think he would be that bothered. Don't think I'll bother anymore.
  19. What is the unreleased Melba Moore you have Marc?
  20. Was it called "If you're trying to hurt me"? Have it on a tape somewhere.
  21. Don't have that one Simon.
  22. The Fantastics on MGM, Deram, Bell, and Bus Stop were Jerome "Romey" Ramos (lead), John Cheathom, Donald Haywoode, Richard Pitts, formerly of the R&B Group The Newtones on Baton and the Soul Group The Strangers on WB. Ramos, Cheathom and Haywoode were formerly of the R&B Group The Velours on Onyx, Cub etc. The Fantastics on Impressario, Copa & SS7 were Jethro V Caldwell (lead, Willie Parnell (second lead), later of Archie Bell & Drells; Eddie Webb, later of Masters of Soul; Bobby Williams. There is a Fantastics on DMD the Detroit group Robb refers to and another on Hit. above courtesy of the Soul Harmony Singles (not always 100% accurate before you have a go at me )
  23. Here is the flyer of yours Jerry...
  24. It's a tough one to find and seems to be a bit in demand these days, why I dunno as it would probably clear most dance floors and no one would keep up Good luck.
