Have they changed the credit to Masterpiece music. Might be wrong but I think one side of the original had masterpiece music on one side only, the other side a different music publisher. Nate Fortier is still around and active, maybe he re-issued it? If it is indeed a re-issue.

I would have thought to obtain copyright/trademark the logo would have to be incorporated into some sort of design that identifies the manufacturer rather than the fist alone. As Cliff says if successful I'd love to see them police it and begin to try and stop everyone who uses the fist in some sort of way.

I rarely hear Let The Good Times Roll when at that kinda night but you do hear Girl Don't Make Me Wait. Same for the invitations, I would have thought most of those below it are more popular and played more than Skiing In The Snow?

A quick google should get them all the proof they need I would have thought.

I don't know anyone who was questioned for asked for any input to compile the top 500? Is something like The Commodore more popular on this scene than all those below it? I don't think so personally. I can't remember the last time I heard it out and hope I never do.

Don't think they copyrighted the name as such it did they? They bought the rights to the label. It's common knowledge isn't it as well?

Although styrene common on the west coast (it was cheaper and the stampers lasted longer) there are plenty of examples of West Coast vinyl presses. Even Monarch used vinyl and I can think of Highland label 45's on vinyl with a monarch delta number, Kell Osborne being one. Arthur Wright told me they used whoever was the cheapest at the time and where credit was good. P.S. Just read Steve's response to West Coast vinyl. And I agree Kitch and Butch must be having a good giggle at this.

Many have wrongly claimed the rights when they don't hold the rights. The above links are not necessarily proof, you of all people should know that. The Spencer Wiggins being one example of a label owner wrongly selling a license for something he didn't own. By all accounts not everything he did was above board.

I've found an email address for a Nate Fortier, a record producer/songwriter and pianist. I've emailed him to see if it is the NF we are interested in and if he remembers this 45.

Neither do I, certainly the Chemistry release which is NY.
