  1. He isn't the greatest singer by any means but there are far worse records out there than this. It ALWAYS sells and for good money. It ALWAYS rams the dance floor at any venue. Good luck in finding one.
  2. I know they aren't cheap. Try ebay. John Manship also sells some, brown and maybe green?
  3. Should be waiting for me when I open iTunes.
  4. Really sad news as said, hopefully he can pull round. Please send him my best wishes.
  5. Do your own carver Patto. You can get an acetate cut with Timmion for not. A lot more than you are willing to pay with a flip as well. Not sure if vinyl carvers still operating as don't use them or similar anymore but there are other cutters.
  6. There is just the one "official" Stafford cd and a few unofficial. I don't even know of an unofficial one for Morecombe?
  7. Thanks for the comments guys, nice to know they are listened to and appreciated.l As said many a forgotten tune amongst the 100's used so far, some of today's DJ's looking for something a little different could do no worse than look amongst these rather than keep chasing what everyone else is playing.
  8. Beat me to it Steve. I know Peanut Duck belonged to John Vincent and predates both Stafford and Morecombe as far as I know? Who played Cleveland Robinson?
  9. Jazzman and covers33.
  10. They are podcast Ian not CDs.
  11. I don't like to blow me own trumpet but they have been compiled or are in the process of being compiled, Stafford anyway. Check out the link in my signature for 34 podcasts telling the Stafford Story. The definitive collection IMO of the sounds that made Stafford. Plenty more to come. Morecombe, I can't think of anything from Morcombe that wasn't already played elsewhere first. I could be wrong but nothing springs to mind.
  12. I've always cared about who I listen to Len, trouble is I don't care for many of today's DJ's. Like I said I don't really care who they are, seasoned collector or first time behind the decks as long as they use some balls and imagination. It's easy to do a millionaires trophy set if you have the money and they tend to be boring as well with little thought or imagination. I'd much sooner hear someone put together a set for the price of one of those trophy records. But too many promoters are spineless and passion and imagination is frowned upon from all quarters, one reason I am finding myself at home more and more at weekends.
  13. Isn't that basically what I said or was getting at?
  14. Sorry to hear this. I no longer buy from the continent unless someone I know and trust can vouch for them. No matter how good their intentions appear via emial always get your claim in before time runs out. I certainly wouldn't trust them unless I actually knew them. Hope you get sorted.
  15. One on eBay now. BIN £245.
  16. Colin has DJ'ed at Lifeline twice. Once with Jock when we was at Ye Old Bell and more recently at the Stables.
  17. Oops beat me to it Joan.
  18. Les Chansonettes of Shrine Records fame.

Who has interfered with a sale? The record was sold before any comments were made.

The problem is if a record has a certain value, most do as well, and someone pays over the odds then other dealers take that as the now rather than offer what is considered to be a fair and honest price. It seems to me that these days certain collectors are willing to pay whatever it takes and many sellers are just getting greedier. The market is getting more and more distorted every week.

I wouldn't say it is a ten quid record, might have been once upon a time but I wouldn't say it was a £120 record either. It's ok Nev posting one odd sale from popsike but the rest seem to be between 40 and 80 dollars with one at $130ish.
  22. Think all I've seen are reversed. When Goldmine put the slower side on a CD they used the Call On me title If you slow the Presentations down to -2 it is practically the same, just a bit of backing and horns the difference if memory serves me correctly. The Millage one though would be in my top 50, great record.
  23. As well as the Mortuary stamp the label also used stickers.... Here's a scan of the Four Reputations from the internet, Compliment's of Sirloin & Leonard.... https://thatsallritemama.blogspot.co.uk/2008/11/four-reputation-on-millage.html
  24. Sensations - Lonely World - Way Out Ex £25 including P&P Looks almost mint. Great double sider. Paypal as a gift preferred.
  25. There's a starting price it would seem of £40 for those with the least demand working their way up to £80, £100 and in the odd case more for the more in-demand ones. Larry Banks £40 to £60. San Franscisco TKO's £80 to £100.
