Muscle Shoals - The Movie
Muscle Shoals and in particular The Fame Recording Studios have a long and illustrious history, not just in Soul Music but other genres as well. Fame was founded by Rick Hall who overcame many obstacles in his path to bring musicians, both black and white together. It would appear a movie is to be premiered later this month at the Sundance Film Festival. http://filmguide.sun...7/muscle_shoals You can read more and view the gallery at the Muscle Shoals Movie site: http://www.muscleshoalsmovie.com

Innocent Bystanders Keb Spin At Stafford
Keb says he had a ten inch acetate called the Jungle, could've been that other than that he really can't remember what this is so guess it will remain a mystery.
-
Carvers - Getting One Cut
Timmion you send an uncompressed file via sendspace, it is free as well.
-
Deon Jackson - Someday
I think the three were three additional ones when it came over here, could be wrong, long time ago.
-
Carvers - Getting One Cut
i'm just saying I've DJ'ed all over with one, on various decks and no problems with the quality of the disc.
-
Carvers - Getting One Cut
The Timmion acetates I have have had plenty of plays on equipment of differing quality and there is no deterioration in the quality of the discs.
-
Deon Jackson - Someday
The acetate was sent over to Tim Brown by Martin. I think three acetates cut and passed onto DJs.

Carvers - Getting One Cut
Timmion do proper metal acetates, you send then a wav file via sendspace they send an acetate in return. In my experience the quality is far better than a vinyl carver. They cost about £25 for two sides.

Gloria Jones - Gone With The Wind
There's a big clue on the audiodisc label with their website address on it.
-
Gloria Jones - Gone With The Wind
It doesn't exist on audiodisc. It was a previously unreleased take but recently got a release on the Soul Purpose label.
-
Gone With The Wind: Best Version?
Personally its just as good without the added verse. The extended version adds nothing to the quality IMO, doesn't make it any better nor any worse, IMO.

Lou Wilson R.I.P.
It seems we have missed the passing of Lou Wilson, one of the Wilson Brothers who formed Mandrill. He died of cardiac arrest on the 7th January. http://myblacknews.n...-71/01/09/2013/ *Fans are mourning the death of Lou Wilson of Mandrill, the afro-funk band who passed away from cardiac arrest. He was 71. Details of a planned memorial celebration will be announced shortly. Below is a message to the public from Lou’s brothers and fellow band members: The centerpiece of our music and our lives, eldest brother LOUIS WILSON, affectionately known as “Sweet Lou,” made his transition on Monday morning, January 7, 2013 in Southern California. On behalf of the Wilson Family and Mandrill, we ask that you please light a candle, hum a song, play a drum or say a prayer in remembrance of him. Lou would like that. . . We will keep you posted on plans for a musical tribute in the near future and other information. Best regards, Ric, Carlos and Wolf www.mandrillmusic.com

Jeffrey Allen - Dilly Dilly
Hi Keith hope you are well. Yes I thought Kitch played this but was wondering if anyone else prior, was told it was a Stafford spin for someone?
