  1. Today is your last chance to donate to this worthy cause that the four intrepid golfers have been supporting and raising funds for. Any support will be more than appreciated.
  2. Still gets plays Pete, Andy Dyson plays it occasionally and off course it was a Dean/Kitch cover up early 90's.
  3. Nolan Porter At Radcliffe All-Nighter - Video View full article
  4. Nolan performing "If I Could Only be Sure" and "Keep On Keeping On" at last nites allnighter
  5. Hi Sean, I know Steve's was early 90's, sure he was doing it when he frequented Thorne? A mate in Chesterfield had everyone of RS's "Soul Source" on Hallam on tape.
  6. Don't know if it's been mentioned but Al Kent "The Way You've Been Acting Lately" is worth a mention.
  7. anyone go? how was he?
  8. didn't someone called Richard Searling have a radio show as well Snooker star Steve davis also had one, Radio Invictus I think. But unles it was national or you lived within range of the signal you never heard any of them back then.
  9. There are plenty DJing with taste playing dance music from cheap to expensive but you wouldn't know that not having been out for a long time? You speak as though you know better than anyone else? Too many of late seem to like nothing better than drag a topic down in my PERSONAL opinion. Like I said this topic is a bit of fun and simply about the music so just for once can we leave the the politics about DJ's and promoters with no taste for another topic.
  10. and a few photos.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/crosseyedbear/sets/72157630803644824/
  11. Didn't think you went anywhere anymore Phil? The topic isn't about what should or shouldn't be played at a soul night or an all-nighter, just simply under-rated records, for whatever reason. And since when has cheap = crap? Not everyone is driven by rarity and value. Some of the worst records played on this scene are expensive. Pure snobbery from many promoters and DJ's. I can't understand why some feel the need to come on every topic and complain about something that is supposed to be a bit of fun.
  12. an old Stafford spin for Steve Smith....will have its day again
  13. and another....
  14. One of my recentish spins..... Ruben Wright - You Done Me Wrong - Capitol Perfect Northern Soul IMO.
  15. Great stuff Bob.
  16. I would think most dealers who were there last time and possibly others would be interested but hard to commit without some idea of when it will be?
  17. We all have individual tastes Grant and it is the diverse taste of us all that make it such a great scene.
  18. Hi can you please read the following topic Mike posted, you must have missed it, thanks. Your "sold" post deleted.
  19. It would be boring if we all liked the same records!
  20. Ey up Louis how ya doing? I think the vast majority if not all anniversary cds are illegal...how many have obtained the rights? I bet it is the same for some of the other anniversary singles as well, not all before you promoters jump down my throat.
  21. I can't emember what year the place became the Winding Wheel. The Winding Wheel nighters I remember were 87 not 81. It used to be the Odeon cinema and there was a nightclub that became the upstairs bit of the Winding Wheel, Fusion or was it Fascination???? They did have the odd nighter there I believe, one of the older town lads will be more specific. The squad went way over the top in 87, searched just about anything that moved yet they only busted one person from all the nighters held. In the end the police refused a licence for the local brass band to blackmail the venue to get rid of the all-nighters.
  22. It wasn't Clarkie who ran the nighter, it could have been Ion and or Tony Smith. I'll have to dig the flyer out, would have been '89ish.
