  1. If you'd asked me before the auction I would have said £1000, £1200 maybe for a minter. One sold on ebay for over £2k in 2006 and there are three others over $2000 listed and several in not so good nick to sh*t condition over $1000, one with edge crack and vg- went for $1400.
  2. I agree a Dj should get to the venue as early as possible but to insist they stop till the end is plain ridiculous and besides what a DJ does once he has done what he has been asked to do is f*ck all to do with anyone else. No one shouls have to explain themselves to anyone least of all you Nige who has gone right through the scene without a break. It is high time some stopped interfering or telling others what to do with their lives. Some should take a long look at the state they get themselves in at their ages all in the name of being a hardcore soulie.
  3. I struggle these days with a nightr but I do work 60 to 70 hours most weeks and often away from home, 4 am will do me these days. If I worked normal hours etc then a nighter wouldn't be a problem.

  11. I think all had an official release Trev. I can double check later as got I most for the Stafford Story podcasts. I'll have to listen and check up on The Stranger though. All the Marvelettes should be on the two Anthology album releases.

no what is long over due is a price drop on those that have had silly price rises.
  13. It's a soul night......
  14. too many listening I think, server can't cope
  15. it's dropped off a couple of times, not for long though.
  16. The golden rule though is if you know nothing about a particular disc, get as many opinions as possible, don't stick to one guide. There is hell of a lot goes on at nighters and soul nights and this has an effect on prices, demand etc. Plus new boots appear on a weekly basis and it is damn hard to keep track of some of them.

You said everyone jumped on the bandwagon when it isn't true, it was already well known and an expensive record years ago, Manship has it at £450 in his third guide, 2007, whether guide price right or not is debatable but the price didn't go up with a few spins from Karl.
  18. Deano live on air right now..... https://www.tulip-radio.org/
  19. Not so much as evidence of involvement from Soussan although there's a strong case, just that I wouldn't have thought this would have got near Hollywood atb the time.
  20. I've sent Loraine the link so hopefully she will say something soon. The address on the acetate tells you something wrong to me.

Sorry if already answered but Butch covered it up as the Volcanoes.
  22. I agree with you Bob. I buy any guide or book published and agree Manship's latest guide is invaluable for boots. I'd like to see an up to date stand alone boot guide though.
