  1. oops yes I did, cheers mark, edited.
  2. Azza DJ'ed at the Wilton last week, Callum at Burnley week before, Lifeline gave the Beat Boutique boys a set, Paul did a great set, Liam failed to turn up, not the first time either I was told. They aren't being ignored but they do have to have something more to offer than what is already there and with the quality of collections and experience some of the older generation have they are gonna take some shifting, no good giving someone a set just because of their age. All the three I've mentioned did themselves no harm, Paul Barker especially. He had the best hour of the night at Lifeline and did a cracking set and I for one would recommend him to any promoter. It has been said though that places the younger generation frequent are not the same as your traditional soul night/nighter with different genres played by the young uns that probably wouldn't go down as well with the older generation. Also think the age difference has something to do with it and the location. Would the Beat Boutique boys get the same crowd and amount through the door if it wasn't one of the countries largest cities with a very large student population? The youngsters are more than welcome at Lifeline but I don't think by and large they are up for the travelling like the older generation???
  3. Well your homework not that good as I haven't lived in Chesterfield for 3 years and why the big interest in me? If you want to know owt just ask, no need to go sneaking about. As for the midlands there little of interest to me there. Gonna have to try and get to Chesterfield sometime to catch up with some old mates but that is about it.

Didn't this also come out as the New Yorkers, very rare though.
  6. I don't class myself as a DJ at all, rarely play out these days and I doubt I'll be doing any next year. I'm just a collector who is occasionally asked to play some records out. As for unissued tracks, if there is an original acetate owned by a Dj then I wouldn't play a carver cut etc. If Kent or some other company puts out an unissued track then play the bloody thing, whats wrong with that. I don't play legal reissues if there is a US original out there, especially if there is a DJ to follow with the US original. And if you go back through the history on this site I've never said any different. In fact I would sooner play the original source which is often a CD, not like some who go and spend £20 or so on a carver just to make things look more legit! I doubt most artists made anything when the record was first cut and any money made from a legal re-issues would be taken up by the company or the one who holds the rights which in most cases isn't he artist. I also have a few mates, no more than a few mates, who have impressive collections, some of the best out there in fact, so what? I'm also about pretty often and not that hard to find when I am out. This topic has been done to death, there's already a topic running about boots, pressing etc. How many topics do you want on the same subject.
  7. do we really need two topics running about this? You could ask that question in the other topic.
  8. 50 years time....I reckon I'll be up in the clouds by then (or down below ).....if not I'll be almost 95 and I can't see me worrying about playing a track to someone at an all-nighter
  9. should be just just a clip not the full file. Can we get back back to the topic now please
  10. yes, it's file sharing and possible copyright infringement, as far as I know.
  11. They are allowed in sales always have been, then it should be a clip and not full file if I remember rightly. I can assure you nothing would please me more than to come on here and have to do nothing but read the topics.
  12. It's the first I've heard, removed mp3's everyday practically.
  13. You will have to wait till refosoul is working then won't you. Simple as that. Don't post anymore and there will be no need to say anything to you. One was the one I replaced the mp3 with a you tube clip, another the John Bowie. As I said don't post anymore mp3's, the same goes for everyone, you aren't exempt. Anything else to say take it to PM and not on here.
  14. Bryn can you just edit your original post and not reply with the whole list edited. Thanks.
  15. Dave can you just edit your original post and not reply with on hold or sold. Thanks.
  16. There are plenty of DJ's who can entertain and do a more than competent job without resorting to pressings? So why book someone with a box of pressings and pay them the same rate you would for someone who has the real deal? If you ain't got the records stick to dancing and enjoying the night, let those who do have the records do the entertaining. If you haven't got a copy of something then play something else, 100's of quality records out there and the scene would be a lot healthier for it instead of the sheep mentality we have of DJ's now. And I don't know many if any DJ's who get behind the decks and entertain themselves and no one else, I don't know a DJ worst his salt who goes up there and is happy to clear the floor. Often it is the fault of the promoter booking a much talked about DJ whose set isn't right for the punters that frequent said event. And if it is true that 99.9% of dancers don't give a toss (which isn't true either cause I know many dancers who do give a toss) then why waste money on booking a DJ, buying boots? Just stick a cd in or use a laptop But at the end of the day, most of those who go out and about, know what promoters do what, what DJ's play what so if it doesn't fit in with ones morals/ethics then they can avoid such promoters and Dj's.
  17. This is the third or fourth mp3 we have had to remove of yours recently, can you stop uploading mp3's. You more than most should know the site rules.
  18. thought it was re-issued? legally of course.
  19. Jim, can you please just edit your original post to show pending/hold or sold and not keep replying with such. Cheers Chalky

  21. He bought it off Tommy couple of months or so ago, been up again on ebay by the buyer for good few weeks. He says in the description he got it from a dealer in LA.
  22. I've seen it go more than a few times for around £70 so would have though that would have been about right. £110 bit much IMO.
  23. As they say in Little Britain...."I want that one" Very nice pal, one of my all time favourite records.
  24. He wasn't to clear but we had only been talking about the one disc. I will ask just to clarify.
  25. Have you got the matrix details Tony? or anyone else for that matter?
