Previous topic…there was 63 acetates and I’m sure it was 89

It was 89 first Yarmouth time, maybe 90 but no later. Pretty sure it went to Gary. He had it and sold it to Richard. There are a couple of early 70s takes. Half a dozen or so takes in all. The BHMOM is just on that acetate and I’ve never heard it sung in any take.

There are tow takes of this one if I remember rightly, slightly different openings, this is the one on Robb’s tapes.

Yes it is. Richard S owns it now. It came in that batch of 60 odd acetates end of the 80s I think.

They came from tapes @Robbk sent over to Rod Shard at the beginning of the 80s. Recording eventually leaked out and cuts done, this will no doubt be one. Prophets is what the originals was covered up as.

After yesterdays 60s/Northern we move the decades on to 70s through to todays music. You should pick one up easily enough but not the same take as Butch's as his is an acetate with male backing. No male backing on the releases.

This week Dean is joined buy Italy's Funk Investigator Alberto Zanini and Andy Tats Taylor, two hours of superb music and banter.

Excellent release for a paper worthy cause, hats off to all concerned.

All sorted then, decent topic. Glad my ears didn't deceive cause having listened again at home, despite knowing the answer, I still can hear the slight difference in then voices. When you look ate the credits though, Jones and Hayes etc across the discs it makes sense.

Plenty of examples out there of single sided discs, usually promos.

The Baby Miracles/Young Folk certainly fit the bill age wise and also a Jones/Hayes recording

As we say it is all conjecture and we will probably never know the real truth without either specialist software that would say in all probability it is or isn’t MJ or the session logs.

It is the same correct matrix BUT stamped. No other stamped copy to anyones knowledge has ever surfaced…not that we have heard anyway. Not to say one hasn’t.

As you say it is all in the ears of the beholder. Unless it goes through voice sampling or comparison software we will never know. Just listening on the iPad whilst they sound very similar one is slightly higher than the other.

Hi Dean. I have seen single sided myself but usually have a label. With this being stamped do you think it is probably out of another plant maybe or an early master?
