there is no rule, unwritten or other regarding ebay auctions, live or otherwise. It might upset one or two but people are free to discuss what they want. Back on topic, yes Richie I was aware of it, seen mentions of it in the past, on here and elsewhere.

Unwritten Soul Source rules? The only one of the above the site actively discourages is comments on sales. Other than that people are free to discus what they like as long as they are within the sites official rules that we all agreed to when registering.

I always think the only reason people put "request" is because they wouldn't normally play it and only played it cause they were asked....sort of ashamed to play it.

I don't think the seller invited comments as to how good or bad the record is or what you would do with it, you wouldn't like the same if it was you selling a record.

Yep been up for a few years at least, been dipping in and out for some time and are a great resource.

I've cut down for few reasons, finances do come into it but it's mainly because of work, too much of it......too knackered to go out some weekends, was going to Radcliffe last week but was shattered. I work 13/15 hours every day, often away most of the week and simply don't have the energy to go out some weekends, plus I've others to think about now not just myself and not always fair to be away all week then go out at the weekends. Too many venues that simply don't interest me, some quality out there though and not had many weekends in this year so far.

Has everyone missed this announcement? Or are they not going? I'm really looking forward to this, especially Derek Martin who has a great repertoire with some killer tracks and like Ady says what does he leave out. Can't wait to hear Sandi sing SITNOL Noel McCoy never heard of him but he does sound good so can't wait to check him out. Nice one Ady

I agree it is feasible but after 10 to 20 years, highly unlikely. I know old blanks are used today but thats a different story, they are attempting to dupe someone. Anyway back on topic, looks like one seller who should be avoided. And $100,000 for a shop full of boots, he's having a laugh He's either not selling anything or he is making another copy of a disc when one is sold.

The seller has been much discussed on here, especially for the "Moses" disc. His listings are full of dodgy discs/acetates. The Little Jimmy Ray doesn't even look 30 days old never mind 30 years. You would think after 30 years storage in a dusty radio station the label and writing would age somewhat As for Sam Fletcher I agree with what Trev says, but the argument over the label was recently used on another topic but wouldn't taken in to consideration with some still saying it was real despite someone pointing out the label was from the 40's and 50's for use with 78's and 33's and not 1968?

Yes and those 2 or 3 (is there that many?) that are discussed are more often than not highly sought after and so would have been noticed by most, especially those that are in a position to pay big money on a disc. As for the other 5 quid boot for a ton I don't know why they still cause a fuss as they are commonplace these days.

Like I said Nev this has been an issue for years and will be for years to come. I can remember topics like this on Mike's old Soul Talk e-mail group years ago. But in reality I doubt very much what is said on here will have little bearing on the outcome of a record on ebay. Most of the records I see in topics like this being complained about are records most will know about, rare, obscure high end Soul records, most of them highly sought after. The Vivian Jones for example didn't need a link in a topic, it is in the adverts at the side. Most the big players know what is on ebay, plenty know every record up for sale on ebay, they spend a couple of hours a day looking at every listing. I've missed out on many, but I've bid what I think it is worth to me, if I lose out I move on.
