Two great sides, both attracting different scenes. Impossible to find on an original which is very rare. Get one before they go....

Dazed - Northern soul scenes are thriving despite the...
I don't know anyone who got into the scene for social-economic reasons? We were all simply looking for something different to the local night club, some decent music and like you say all after seeing what our peers were up to....and the sherbert LOL

Sidney Hall of Shrine Talks to Andy Rix
To help celebrate the purchase of The Shrine label by Kent Records and the release of the new Shrine Northern Soul Lp, here is a treat for Soul Music lovers. It is an audio from Sidney Hall that Sidney sent to Andy Rix when Andy was putting together the Shrine Story. 30 minutes long with one side of his Shrine 45 at the beginning and the end.

What do you mean retro? The music certainly is, largely anyway. The article gets one thing right, In a handful of small venues". It is just a few venues as well, large cities with a large young university crowd to target. Its not the case at your bread and butter venues with youth very much absent. I hope some of these in places like Deptford and the one in Bristol do keep the faith as the article likes to eulogise, and travel, that is what is missing, a large travelling contingent of youth. (Recent) History though would suggest otherwise.

U.S Warren - The Get Away
Last sold on Discogs for £32 last month, that's the highest it has sold for with a bit of history too.
-
Current value of these as thinking of selling
That's more in line with my idea of a price, maybe same for Groovettes too.

Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul, Thursday 8pm.
Guy Hennigan joins Dean in the studio for this weeks show which reflects on the fabulous Top Dog and Soultown reunion at Stafford's Top of The World on Easter Sunday. Guy gets the chance to play some records that didn't get onto the turntables last week and chat and digest the events of last week. Gez and myself are also in the studio.

Last Eddie Whitehead I saw was more than £1k, probably nearer double. I’d want more than a grand anyway if I was selling. Rarely see either records.

Who has the Blenders on AFO?
AFO is a Louisiana/New Orleans label, Le Sage is New York so probably not the same group?

Ebay prices - crashing - Sign of what's to come ??
Most records have a history of sales and this is what most of us used for years with no problems. Most collectors were happy to shift a record on for what thye paid or a small profit to fund another purchase. Now, it's look at last price, and double that cause they think some mug will pay it.

Ebay prices - crashing - Sign of what's to come ??
But that ten quid record in The USA is £30 here, UK dealers exploiting the postage cost situation. I'd sooner pay the postage than give my money to a greedy Brit seller.

Whilst I'm in the mood (to do nothing really) I thought I'd do a mix of some Stafford Top Dog and Soultown era plays. I got carried away and it ended up being over 4 hours

Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul, Thursday 8pm.
This weeks show looks forward to the Top Dog and Soultown reunion in Stafford and remembers two friends of the show and for many of us who passed away in recent days, Tim Fletcher and Kit Moore.
