  1. Timmion are good, 25 euro I think for two sides. Difference between Timmion and Carvers is Timmion use actual metal acetates, better sound quality than carvers. https://www.timmion.com/cutting
  2. Here's edited scans of the Musette test press, You Know How Love Is and Showbusiness. In my opinion got to be June Edwards, you can judge for yourself when refosoul is open again and I can upload the sound files. Many thanks to Chris Morgan for his kind permission to use these.
  3. I can't believe a topic about Holland Dozier and Holland and the amount of music that is of interest to us that they were behind has generated just 8 replies
  4. The Paris had if I remember rightly Steve Mancha on the flip, Did My Baby Call. Can't remember much else about them, thought there was 4 discs at the time. Maybe from different sources but thought Rudzy issued some of them??? Might be wrong, if so apologies.
  5. It came out about the same time as the Paris, Johhny Honeycutt. Was Rudzy something to do with them?
  6. It will still be there in The Sharp End to add too etc at any time.
  7. gotta agree with you David, who needs all this retro sh*te or the same old same week in week out when there's gems like this that rarely see the light of day at a venue.
  8. No matter how plush the venue the toilets, or at least the gents, would still be a mess in no time. most the lazy gits can't be bothered to lift the toilet seat and simply p*ss all over it I wonder if they do the same at home
  9. Lifeline would like the DJ's there as early as possible, 9pm preferably when we start. I can't really speak for Andy who sorts the DJ's but I doubt he wouldn't take kindly to any DJ booked at Lifeline to DJ at another allnighter the same night. Any DJ with anything about him shouldn't take two bookings the same night, he (or she) should be fully committed to just one venue, especially as most all-nighters start around 9pm.
  10. I DJ'ed there several times, was a regular DJ at the Tracky Club at the time and could be found in a club somewhere in the area every weekend, great days!

thank fook for that, two pages of discussion and we have a decision

yes but the difference with that is that is a legitimate original label release, you are talking about UK re-issues done especially for the UK Rare Soul Scene. I'm surprised anyone would even consider questioning the Big Maybelle Rojac releases.
  17. well I try to make the Lifeline flyers (well supply the info, Mace does the techie bit of putting it together) interesting and maybe a bit collectable by using a different artist for the background. Few of the artists featured I doubt many have seen before. Betty Lloyd being one. Here's the latest....Clifford Binns the featured artist. Flyers still have their place on the scene but they are not the necessity they once were.

but some wouldn't play a re-issue when there is a genuine US original label issue.
  19. I have sound files and scans of the test pressing, just waiting for permission to put up edited versions or maybe even the whole thing.
  20. I wasn't knocking you or your motives for inclusion (I thought it was Carla Thomas, didn't remember the Tony & Showmen), I was merely highlighting the fact that songs out of period had been used previousluy, yours was the only northern one that came to mind.
  21. well I'd prefer to see flyers on a table in the entrance to a venue, at least the promoter can take back the ones left at the end of the night. Saves on all the cleaning up too.
  22. There's still plenty of people out there who don't use a PC, or should I say face-book and soul source so you still have to get the message across to these, not flyering could come across as complacency. We had a discussion about flyers a while back.

    I mean as a 45

they are unissued aren't they think that's the difference with those and Little Johnny Hamilton and Mike's dilema.
  25. sold mine back in mid 90's, unfortunately I can't get one back for what I bought it for or sold it for
