Yeah I agree in a way but I've been to places where space is short, especially when selling so detachable would be great. Some detachable hinges more than strong enough. Be sure to show us the finished product in February, he might get a few orders
  3. There is though a genuine vocal that does exist of 6x6, it has been played out, John Pugh owns it. Its not Tony Turner either, forget off top of me head but it's a motown audition recording or summat like, and once you've heard it you'll know why it never got poast the audition stage. There is a topic on here if one of the mods can find it. Chris Anderton anbd Dave Rimmer will say the same.

Got the Tempts from Tesco for 97p. Might have a spare somewhere as well and also the video recording in the garage from when it was first shown on Sky TV (Hallmark Channel) some years ago, two parter.

looks good, is the lid detachable?

not really, often collectors can't be so choosy. Dealers will often say if there is a bb hole but rarely if ever does it affect the price, some dealers don't even mention the fact there is a bb hole.
  7. I've had that on in cab today, great cd. Also had the Vibrations cd on from Kent too, magic, under-rated group. And to finish off this afternoon Fabulous Peps and Lee Rogers cd's. Great when I can listen to music (albeit cds) all day.

according to R&B Indies it was released in 1965. The credits are Washington, Hogains & Wells and it was produced by Perry Botkin (I think that's what it says on the label). Steve Smith found the record if memory serves me correctly and Rob got it from Steve and as said covered up as the Escorts (I'm So In Love With You?). As Joan said Rob had a lot of faith in the record and it did clear the floor initially, he played it several times one night at 100 Club They danced eventually
  13. People have and always will chase other DJ's records. The same scenario happens today only people trawl the play lists on sites like Soul Source to source records rather than go out and look themselves, one reason quite a few have stopped or refuse to post play lists.
  14. I've seen a photo of Betty Lloyd, signed as well.
  15. He was superb. I had a fantastic day watching him rehearse bollocking Snake and the band. Don't recall seeing too many bad acts back then at Yarmuff. Ray Pollard, Eddie Holman, Gene Chandler and more all superb. Vocally the Precisions will take some beating. Plenty more photos on my flickr page (link below).
  16. dunno why folk want to have a pop at the seller, it's not his fault people still bid so high for the record.....the buyers are dictating the prices not the seller. Everyone knows he has quantity of the record and it's not a case of him saying last one.....ok this is definately the last one

  18. big record for Gary Spencer too towards end of 80's.
  19. Maybe Gary Rushbrook played it back end of Wigan?? Did Tim put it on a Wigan CD? I don't recall seeing it on one?
  20. Don't think John has ever said that the prices are gospel has he, simply what he has sold them for? John himself has said it is nothing more than a guide.
