  2. these on the way Joan, sorting some of others now.
  3. got his cd Tell It like It Is through the post, fabulous, highly recommended. Summat like 13 unissued tracks on there.
  4. You've forgotten more about music than Jock will ever know
  5. Take it still on about the Mustangs? Gotta agree John flip isn't too bad. Mustangs 0f Austin, Texas Feat Matthew Robinson - Tender Loving Care - Stangs Mustangs 0f Austin, Texas Feat Sahra Scott - How Do You Quit - Stangs
  6. who's asking you to like the record? it's your comments about being overpriced and bland that are puzzling, it's far from either, even if you don't like it. if your not wet behind the ears then you know full well that £2600 for a record that numbers less than 10 known copies is pretty reasonable in anyones book. And I ain't belittling you either. If you think Tommy & Derbys is bland then I doubt very much your collection will be full of incredible records to these cloth ears
  7. I've seen some stupid comments on Soul Source over the years but you've made two of the best here I know everyone has different taste etc but to say it's overpriced is way wide of the mark, especially when compared to some of the records that fetch a similar amount, and to say Tommy Tate is bland is beyond belief
  8. Butch rarely plays it!!! And when he has it's not pitched up that much if at all, barely noticable. I want to go out to all-nighters and I danced to this saturday night. Too many uptempo records can have a detrimental effect too, especially when they aren't good enough to be played or in the same class as Tommy & Derbys.
  9. One of the best records I've ever heard!!
  10. about £2600
  11. If same Ian he was from York, Ian O'Hara I think. He is on Soul Source
  12. Isn't it the 45 versions that are dfferent?
  13. I was told they didn't have the rights to use the Soul City name for the recent releases. I'd have my doubts too over the licensing of some of the tracks as well.
  14. we have...a few times went on a stag do once years ago, one lad fell asleep on way home, so his hair went up in smoke Remember at Dome someone with hairy legs in shorts at bar...Andy saw them and whoosh...legs no longer hairy
  15. Although had many good nights at Keele, after the feast of newies we had in the 80's Keele for me was when it started to go backwards musically. Too many "oldies" and repeat plays. I can remember one night I thought there was just one box of 100 or so records for the DJ's to Dj from Was a great record bar though!
  16. The Intensions on Bleulight are the Moneytown group are they not, both discs/labels have George Redman connection, produced/arranged. There is a topic on here somewhere when we discussed this previously.
  17. There's the brains Ian but it's the egos that are the problem...too many will get pushed out of the picture and maybe some egos won't like that. As I said elsewhere too many think only about themselves and their self inflated opinion of themselves and care little about the bigger picture
  18. I agree Steve and you're right not even Lifeline plays just newies. BUT the oldies it does feature tend to be forgotten or the underplayed, of which there are 100's from a fiver/tenner upwards, and not the top 500 you here all the time. People have got to be a little less selfish IMHO and tolerate the tastes of others.
  19. there's a site search bit on every page, try that then you can refine your search to just refosoul
  20. Can you send me the list please Pete?
  21. it has but it has Steve Mancha on the flip, Did My Baby Call.
  22. you can't? what can't you get Ken cause you can get a pretty large number of the catalogue. Stuff like Magic Touch and For Dancers Also cd's are there.
  23. you even have the added bonus that if the track you want isn't on SS you only have to ask and it usually posted in no time at all
