  1. both excellent records in their own right but I think Leroy just sneaks it for me. Not really heard any DJ get behind either version in a long time which probably explains lack of dance floor interest.
  2. John has his own site as well HERE
  3. Not a compilation as such but plenty of fantastic listening at John Ridley's page HERE

Bloody hell, knew David Sea was backing, never realised Nate was other backing singer. Saw the tour in Doncaster.
  5. labels related so would explain similarity. (Kick Off/Celeste/Merging/Progress). Zeke Strong the owner. was covered as Herbert Hunter - Play In Your Own Back Yard

  10. I'm sure you'd manage fine Any chance of mp3 of other side? I reckon I have it on a cd somewhere but god knows which one wouldn't mind a listen now Marc mentions it.
  11. One that came on in the car today on the cd I've got playing....Arthur Alexander - You better Move On
  12. January I can see many years of pleasure in front of you, plenty of good tunes to spot to keep you busy
  13. The flip is called Loneliness Is A Pleasure which is actually the top side and was released twice, once with JITNOT and once with Dear Santa on the flip so beware if you see LIAP listed for sale. LIAP got spins late 70's I think.
  14. it was £350. Not sure if gone or not. E-mail Andy Dysonsoul@aol.com

don't think the Rita & Tiaras & Belita Woods (cover ups) discoveries of Andy Dysons, both superb and always fill the floor.
  16. been featuring this in my sets for a while now, gotta agree with you great record
  17. The London Symphony Orchestra use those instruments too but don't make them a soul ban does it I just didn't find the track mentioned particularly soulful and on listening again still don't, think it's pop pure and simple...just my opinion.

George Sharp at Warrington Parr Hall?
  19. I agree with ya Jock, shouldn't Amy topic be in freebasing? Is she a soul singer? Thought she was a pop singer Whats the details on the Archie and Jesse cds? especially the Jesse James

and if you're honest £350 is at least £100 too much, hardly a rarity is it, it does turn up.
  21. enter her real name in google, should get something there...
  22. Jessica James real name is Peggy Santiglia. She was in the Delicates and later with the Angels. She sang lead on "My Boyfriends Back". She was a notable songwriter as well using the surname Farina. She co-wrote on 4 Seasons discs with Bob Gaudio of the 4 Seasons. The Toys were originally four with Dottie Berry dropping out after their first release (as the Charlettes) "The Fights Not Over" on Angie.

it's new and fills floor whenever Butch DJ's, think most will have heard it as he also does places like Queens Hall as well as Lifeline & 100 Club etc. Don't think who it is really matters, cover ups always played their part, it's the reaction the dancers give them that counts IMHO
  24. I bet most vg+ are 75% of value typically, maybe more in some cases. E-bay never ceases to amaze me with buyers buying records in p*ss poor condition for near mint prices

Butch had a few cracking discoveries last year or so in particular his Masqueraders cover up, I've heard nothing to better it, superb As his Gerri Taylor & Profiles cover ups. He played one out for the first time as well at last Lifeline but can't remember what he's called it
