What Is This
Dave is a soulie now living in Hong Kong (or was). Few years back he took the backings to several songs and recorded them with new vocals in his flat, The Larry Hammond is one, called Whenever I'm With You and it has the backing to Happiness is Here. Half way through his mobile rings and Larry starts singing the phone's ringing Another done with Larry Hammond at that time is Sad Sad Day, the backing is Sidras Theme. There's more but can't remember rest right now

What Is This

Audrey Matthews-i Have No Choice
the ones I've played there hasn't been an origianl for some of 'em but the deck I played the cut on was quieter than an original vinyl record on the other deck, not sayingh the quality is poorer, just quieter, dunno why. Not a problem as far as I'm concerned, just notch the volume up a touch more when playing an vinyl carver cut. The service they provide is first class and I doubt the scene could do without the likes of them these days

Ernest Mosely
sounds like different singers to me

I Thought Current Stuff Was Rubbish
yeah on a rare soul forum...since when have Christine Aguilera and Amy Whingehouse been soul let alone rare soul which is what we are here to discuss at the end of the day, not pop music

Audrey Matthews-i Have No Choice
your right Pete but when I've used them I've uploaded mp3's, easy and time saving. The sound quality that comes form a cut from the likes of vinyl carvers is a lot quieter than proper vinyl, well I mean the type of vinyl we all love Usual have to compensate with the deck when playing a cut by turning it up a touch more, they never sound as good to my ears.

Vinyl Carver machines copy like for like, there will be no difference. The guys at Ace/Kent have probably got it to sound as good as it's gonna get and the likes of vinyl carvers aren't even in the same league as those technology wise. Besides vinyl carvers use mp3's which are compressed therefore losing some of the original recording

Butch does play it faster than the file on soul club. I think the file on soul club originates from a tape Butch did for a well knoiwn dj of the time back in the 80's. I have a recording taken from one of the cuts donme at the time so I poresume that is the proper speed and it's notched up a tad when played out.- Audrey Matthews-i Have No Choice
the source for the vinyl copy ( a cut I presume) is I presume the digital recording so how does it sound better?- Morris Chestnut
£400 for an issue, reckon that is or was a bit on cheap side. Used to be about £400 for demo but there has beeen few about in last couple of years. £250/£300 now for demo? I would have said £600 for issue but not so sure now.- Oh Look.... It's Friday
real one has a matrix stamp and is a darker shade of green- I Thought Current Stuff Was Rubbish
I wouldn't be searching the pop charts for the next big record- I Thought Current Stuff Was Rubbish

Pretty sure it's been confirmed that it isn't Audrey Mae Matthews. Ady mentioned he thought it was by the writer Sharon McMahon.- I Thought Current Stuff Was Rubbish
Whether I lioke the Oxford Knigjhts or not is irrelevant but the Oxford Knights is a Northern Soul record, the label has a history with scene, Amy Whinehouse and that Christine bird don't and are highly unlikely too- I Thought Current Stuff Was Rubbish
there's also plenty of forums to discuss Amy Whinehouse too - Diane Lewis
