Mp3 Wanted
Your right Nick Butch been playin the JJ Jackson for some years but never really had the exposure to the mainstream soul fans until Andy Dyson got the second copy. Mick H later got a copy and the record now getting the exposure it deserves, destined to be a classic IMO, powerful adrenalin fuelled Northern soul!! Can't help with the mp3 though.

Dj's
Can see why it''s big on the R&B curcuit but how this can be played in a Northern Room is beyond me

Value Please
Len Jewell is a legit re-issue and only cheap, £25ish. If it was Teri-de 4 then would be worth a few bob . Connie Clark a boot. Original has yellow label.

Roy Hamilton Could Sing A Tune
Sure did see him at Yarmouth, spent the day with him (dunno how I managed that though ) watching him rehearse and so on, fabulous...the best I've seen I think

Roy Hamilton Could Sing A Tune
One of my all time fave oldies is Roy Hamilton's "Cracking Up Over You" Many others though by him faves, Panic Is On, You Can Count On Me and of course You Shook Me Up Like Roy, Chuck Jackson does the dancers just as good as the ballads. Often listen to the cd Kent put together, hardly a bad track on it

Value Please
You getting these the right way round Have seen Storm Warning for around the £30 mark recently but definately not £30 for Laws Of Love. If you see another for the price you paid get it me and I'll give you £30 for it.

Jackie Wilson Was Terrible
Gotta agree with you Ian about JW being top three. No one could hit the notes he could. There's a cd of his "Uptown & Upnorth" on Westside and it's class!!! As for the other two, personally think Otis isn't all he's cracked up to be and Sam Cooke a little too MOR in a fair bit of his outp[ut for my liking (cracking read his autobiography though). Roy Hamilton has to be up there, Chuck Jackson class act......

Jackie Wilson Was Terrible
Know where you are coming from Jon. Have seen some "great" artists over the years but some when in the flesh so to speak just don't live up to their vinyl recordings. I'm currently reading the Jackie Wilson autobiography, it says inn there from those on tour with him that his concerts rarely change, the same 10 or 12 tracks all the time with maybe the odd change or addition here and there...maybe did the same for Wigan?

Mixed Emotions - 'gold Of My Life'
yep.... In response to your inquiry: The Mixed Emotions Single "Can you feel the Funk/Gold of my Life" was produced by Elijah Cole, Jr. in 1975 in a limited edition of 300 records under his own label. These were never for sale to the general public and were given away to friends and family only. Elijah Cole recently rereleased his original single for the very first time using the original master. For the very first time this record is now available for sale to the public. The only way that you can get these original singles is through his daughter, Felicia Kemper. Be aware that we have never authorized the reprint or distribution by other sources. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thank you for your interest and concern. Regards, Felicia and Bjorn Kemper

Me? cynical? I've heard many a dj play shite records just because they are rare and expensive so by this I presume some records are just interesting to some because of the price tag

Stafford Tunes On A Budget
Righteous Brothers covered up as Jack Montgomery - Make Your Mind Up by Guy. Play this out frequently and seems to be going down well at last. Bought a copy for a friend for $8 couple of weeks ago. It was Korean and on red vinyl Citations was Kebs old Magnificent Men cover up. Superb record. Played this at Sheridans few weeks ago and a couple of Guys came up and asked what it was, one even went into the record bar and bought a copy.
