The notes in the Goldmine CD "Lost & Found" speculate as to whether Kenny Carlton was in fact Kenny Carter who recorded for RCA. Anyone?

Looking for some bio information on Kenny Carlton who recorded "Lost and Found" on Blue Rock. There doesn't appear to be any information on him. Was Kenny Carlton a pseudonym? Was his Blue Rock release his only recording? Any information would be appreciated. Many thanks

Sadly there is little visual footage of the Platters from their"soul" years. However there is this nice clip from the late 60's with Sonny Turner front and centre ...

Would just like to see it Steve because there appear to be no photos whatsoever of the record on the net and none listed on popsike or collectors frenzy, discogs and the other usual media places. Literally nothing (that I can see or find).

Think it was one of Don Cornelius's personal traits - he almost never shook hands with artists on the show. He would just climb up onstage with the microphone and start interviewing. Also calls Soussan "Simone" as if his first name is the female form of the word ....

Soussan obviously had an uncanny ability to win a person's confidence ... even that of Soul Train's Don Cornelius who deemed Soussan important enough to interview him on stage following Arpeggio's performance on Soul Train on 17 March 1979.

Perhaps Floyd Smith owned the Ripple masters ?

Only 5 noted on popsike and 3 of those were in poor condition. The other two were VG+only so the fact that the most recent one reached $585.00 US is probably not a good indication. It's not only a superb record but very elusive. If an Exc or M- copy came up for on auction on ebay today, it would not surprise if it reached 4 figures ($US) . But whether an ebay price is the right price is of course up to the individual. Apart from the strong interest in the record on the rare soul scene, there is high demand for this record from disco and boogie collectors; and there was never any original 12" release. And despite the fact that it clocks in at 6 minutes 12 seconds on the 7", the sound is loud and clear, and its on vinyl (not styrene).
