  3. IT WASN'T ME Who else used to run the gauntlet then from train stations to venues on here and used to get all cocky as ya turned a corner and saw a load of the older soul mob, just as your enemy came around the same corner
  4. Were ya good then Pete
  5. Spot on post Joan, It did take along time to get accepted and having to prove that you weren't just some sort of ship just passing in the nite, I suppose these days we call em handbaggers...lol. It was even harder being a girlie collecting music in a typically male orientated world too and had similar expeiences when searching for that elusive sound. I really don't think we are as suspicious about youngsters coming on to the scene these days as what we were and are more accepting, despite some 'keyboard warriors' suggesting otherwise. There was ''etiqutte'' on the scene that was adhered too such as the dancefloor as an example - if you were good you were at the front not too bad then the middle etc etc .... You had to prove yourself, practice your dancing and reap the rewards, same similar sort of etiquette applied to the Djay lists too with breaking a must have sound and earning respect from your peers. Now it appears that, like you already suggested, those that 'shout loudest on an internet forum' can command everything that many of us worked hard to achieve.

  19. Has to be my original doss bag from the 7ts with all its patches on, its knackered now but wouldnt part with it for all the tea in china. My original full length leather and sheepskin coats which cost my mum a months worth of overtime back then. My membership cards from venues no longer in existance, photographs, cassette tape recordings and most precious of the lot friends and memories.
  20. Have to say watched loads of it on tv and via the net, can't stand Jay Z, head and arse springs to mind. Amy tottering about on her heels ... it wasnt you she thumped was it Mark? Have to say though the bit where she introduced her band the smaller of the two backing singers voice was bloody amazing. Neil Diamond was having a ball on stage. Best track of the weekend for me was the Enemy, they had the attitude of Oasis and a delivery like the Jam .. bloody awesome.
  21. me too Mand Are we gonna pull this one off then?
