Ztsc On Ric Tic & Golden World Records
Hi Ray No Problem. Hi Ray I wouldn't worry too much about Counterfeits of these labels, although they do exist. It sounds so far like you have originals. Almost all of my records came from Soul Bowl in the 70's, Including the ones I have given you the DeadWax Information on. The GW-47 of yours, I would say is 100% OK as you describe it. I have two copies of this and Both are Scatched ZTSC. The GW-46 - Heart Trouble - The Parliaments. -------------STYRENE Scratched "ZTSC-121124" with a "-P" STAMPED to the side of the ZTSC and the "2" or possibly "1" 180 degrees across the record, STAMPED in the DeadWax. You're right, it is hard to say whether it is a 1 or a 2. Ric-Tic RT-111 - To Win Your Heart - Laura Lee -------------STYRENE------------------------STYRENE The White DEMO Scratched "ZTSC-107550" with "T1" Scratched 180 degrees across the record in the DeadWax. The Stock Copy Scratched "ZTSC-107550" with a "-P" STAMPED to the side of the ZTSC and "1" Faintly STAMPED 180 degrees across the record in the DeadWax. Remember also that slightly different labels exist on the Golden World Issues. -------------STYRENE------------------------STYRENE------------------------STYRENE The Position of the GW-21 and even the Font. Some of the other titles are STAMPED and some are Scratched, I will try to list which I have that are Scratched and which are Stamped, possibly Friday/Saturday, as I Work Nights Sunday to Thursday and will be going to bed soon. I was Intending to collate the Information to add to the Hitsville Site anyway. Any further help, do not hesitate to contact me. Hi Ray I will answer all of your questions if I can. The stamps are usually followed by a Number and Letter, as you can see below this can be different across the same Issue Number. I have multiple copies of other Titles, I will have a Look tomorrow to see if I have any with a Stamp and another with a Scratched Matrix. Of the top of my head I think I have a ZTSC Revilot with a Stamp on one side and a Scratched matrix on the other, so you can see it doesn't appear to follow any pattern, but I will let you know what I can find out about this, so Point 2 may take more time, I will get back to you. ------------STYRENE - "ZTSC104215-2 C" STAMPED-/-THE OTHER SIDE--"ZTSC104216-1 C" STAMPED - "ZTSC104215-2 B" STAMPED-/-THE OTHER SIDE--"ZTSC104216-1 B" STAMPED --"ZTSC104215-2 A" STAMPED-/ THE OTHER SIDE--"ZTSC104216-1D" STAMPED Point 1 >>> LINK <<< The records were pressed by Columbia Records, if you follow the Link there is lots of Information about Various Pressing Plants. Including ZTSC The code itself is broken down thus, Z - indicates a 7" medium T - transcription S - indicates 45rpm C - Chicago, where they were pressed Point 3 Dave Moore has done some wonderful articles on Various Labels Including Golden World and Ric-Tic >>> LINK <<< The Work that I am doing is constantly being updated as I find Information. With Some of the The Labels I have Included links to Sound files when you click on them. It is on the Hitsville Forum. We have gathered together Information from Various sources to try to complete Both the Labels. I will shortly be adding the ZTSC Information. Information for some of the Ric-Tic records is a bit hard to Obtain. We are still searching for some of the DEMO's. >>> LINK to My Ric-Tic Posts on Hitsville Soul Club Of America <<< >>> LINK to My Mirwood Posts on Hitsville Soul Club Of America <<< I will keep in touch and hopefully find out more Information on the Scratched vs Stamped Matrix.

Hi Steve Yes, you are probably right there. On the question of trousers, I remember when I used to buy 32" waist trousers, I think that they must be making them wrong as I now have to buy 38" waist.

Ztsc On Ric Tic & Golden World Records
Hi Dante No Problem, I have been trying to piece together the Mystery of the ZTSC Numbering System. It's the various mix of 1A, 1B, 1C ,1D, 1E, 2A and so on. I guess that they're batch numbers for the Master but can be many different variations for the same Title. SOMETIMES IT MAY BE 1A on one side and 1D on another. Get another copy of the same Title and It's 1A and 1B etc.

Ztsc On Ric Tic & Golden World Records
Hi Dante It certainly does, and a Scratched Matrix "ZTSC-97604-1E" Interesting that this has the "Bell Sound" Stamp, as the others were pressed at Columbia. Anyone know why, the change in pressing plants.

Gordy Label
Hi Yes, I remember seeing "Its So Hard Being A Loser" in the 70s. I was going to buy it but changed my mind, suprisingly rare, as you just dont see them too often. The "One Way Out" - West Coast Scripted Gordy - LOOKS INCREDIBLE and is the Label to have it on, if you can find one. I think I have only ever seen two, not too expensive but definitely not easy in my experience. G-7056 MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS I'M READY FOR LOVE / HE DOESN'T LOVE HER ANYMORE Of the records below, The ones in Purple I have seen the Gordy Script Label, However, they were West Coast Styrene Monarch with the Bright Purple Label. Often wondered if Festival Time was ever on the Scripted Gordy, as I've never seen one. G 7058 MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS JIMMY MACK / THIRD FINGER, LEFT HAND G 7059 THE CONTOURS IT'S SO HARD BEING A LOSER / YOUR LOVE GROWS MORE PRECIOUS EVERYDAY G-7060 SAN REMO GOLDEN STRINGS FESTIVAL TIME / JOY ROAD G 7062 MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS LOVE BUG LEAVE MY HEART ALONE / ONE WAY OUT G 7063 EDWIN STARR TWENTY-FIVE MILES / LOVE IS MY DESTINATION Incidently, I notice on Manships Site there is G-7070 Badge Design I don't know, but I would assume West Coast.

Gordy Label
Hi Steve Although I cannot say which are the last titles on both coasts to use the Old Design, or the First to use the new design. This may help. I agree that the Gordy Label with the Scripted Logo is one of the most attractive Labels ever. If you look at the Motown records in General you will find many slight variations, as they were pressed at different times and different pressing plants, in vast numbers. Regarding your question, there were East Coast and West Coast Presses of these discs. The West Coast Styrene Monarchs used the Scripted Gordy Design Logo a Little Longer than the East Coast. I have seen It's So Hard Being A Loser", "One Way Out" on the Scripted Gordy Design. They are a Brighter Purple in colour and Styrene. RE: Don't Look Back - DEMO BELOW I hope that this helps.

There is a Counterfeit copy White & Black Swirl with P.B. in the Deadwax. I'm not sure, think it was on Vinyl, I'll try to find it.

DeadWax as follows. @ 06 Oclock "Bell Sound" Stamped @ 05 O'Clock "ZXSE-12304 RE - 1D" Scratched @ 02 O'Clock "Nashville Matrix" Stamped @ 12 O'Clock "5" Scratched

My Theory About Fathers Angels
Another thing about this record that's odd is that it didn't get a proper release in the US. Anyone know if it was ever considered for US release, and why it didn't.

Is This A Boot?
Hi Is it on Vinyl and what is in the DeadWax? As Sean states, It could well be the White DEMO to the Silver Version.

Oddball Pye Studios Acetate
Probably while they were trying to recreate this version, not the Version PYE Released, and NOT the one played at Wigan, a sort of test piece from PYE. I have the ROULETTE Version Somewhere, I'll try and find it for a Sound Clip. Pete-S posted the original pieced together version a while ago. The Version before PYE tried, It was taped live at Wigan, The Atmosphere was awesome. >>> LINK <<< There's also Tainted Love taped Live.

Is This A Boot?
The DeadWax on both of these above read quite tiny"66BY264.1 --------------------------------LW" PLUS ANOTHER TINY MARK like a small "v" If you look on the OKI side just before the "66" there is a Stamp Mark, possibly a poorly stamped "R" I don't know if the other Original Vinyl DEMO has similar marks. I wasn't aware of any boot other the one below, Hopefully Pete will let us know what marks are on the other BOOT. -----------* BOOT * -----------* BOOT *

Is This A Boot?
Hi Craig Another good find, looks like we almost have the full set of Monarch scans for these two releases. The Monarch Numbering System is such a help for Collectors. All we need now is the Monarch Stock Copy for "World Without Sunshine"

Is This A Boot?
Hi Tony Yes, I agree, your Vinyl White DEMO is more difficult to acquire and rarer than the White DEMO I have. As I stated earlier the White DEMO and Gold Label Stock copy below have Identical Deadwax Markings. Both were from Soul Bowl. I have placed the scans of the White DEMO starting from the Top in order of Rarity. I wasn't aware that this format of White DEMO had been Booted, any more Info Pete.

Friday Frolics
Hi Paul Any Idea which Version was the first to be released?
