Larry Clinton-She's Wanted Issue
I think the way recessions generally work is rich people get richer, poor people get poorer. And the more rich people sitting on massive piles of cash, the worse it gets. The more lunatics splashing their cash on bits of plastic, the better for everyone...

Lost Records – Plea For Help
Every collector's worst nightmare... I've got a pal who was burgled about a year ago, while he was asleep in the house. His record box was taken, the thieves presumably thought that anything in a flightcase was worth money. Anyway, after the usual contacting all local shops etc. he wandered all the surrounding streets and found his records ditched in a hedge. And let's not forget what led Kenny Burrell to chain his box up - he allegedly got his DJ box nicked out the back of his car along with a couple of golf sweaters. The thieves threw the flightcase into a field and kept the sweaters, so the story goes... I'd advise Craig to check all the bins and side alleys etc. near the venue. And if there's any local grifters who do the carboot sales and junkshops, then alert all these guys - it's the kind of thing which MIGHT surface at a carboot sale and the kind of thing that if someone was selling, they'd probably do them for 50p each - or take £50 for the box. I think buying them back and THEN getting the police involved would be the way to go... if you get a sniff, and alert the police you can be SURE the records will get binned immediately. On a more optimistic note, I found a local (techno) DJs missing box (burgled from his house) in a local secondhand shop THREE years later. Shop was totally cool, gave him the records back for free and the name and address of the person selling - to do with as he wanted. So things can go into cold storage, but these are the kinds of records which if they came up for sale would start alarm bells ringing immediately. And if any crop up on ebay, best thing would be for Craig to "win" them, and suggest meeting in person to pay cash and look at what else they have. With the boys in blue... GOOD LUCK CRAIG!

Emi 70's Acetates
You'll need to get it verified by an independent team of experts who meet 3 times a year to discuss these issues. The disc will be carbon-dated (which can take up to 3 months for the results to come in), and if the panel deem it to be acceptable, you'll be offered a certificate after their next meeting (at a cost of £9.95 plus postage) which you then need to get stamped by Butch. Then, and only then, can you play the acetate at an OVO night, provided you have the certificate framed and on clear display behind the decks for the duration of your set.

Manship's Auction Bargains
Think this post is meant to be about AUCTION bargains... The concept that you can bid the highest in the worldwide marketplace inhabited by super-rich lunatics and STILL get a bargain... Let's face it, everyone's had a Manship set sale bargain and everyone's had a Manship set sale not-so-bargain. But nobody likes to talk about them, do they now?!!

Fluorescent Smogg Re-Issue ?
Unexpected, like this re-issue selling for £54??? Still, it's limited, looks good, sounds good and what are the chances of finding an original. Wish i'd bought a spare Soul Spectrum comp now!

Well Done, Royal Mail, A Perfect Break
I'm guessing two were vinyl, one was styrene? Sticker or no sticker, the minute it leaves your hands it's just chucked into a huge sack which is thrown from van to van. I've had plenty of LPs marked fragile with FOOTPRINTS on the mailers. Royal Mail need to realise that letters will continue to become virtually extinct. Parcels will be their future. Until they price themselves out the market...

Rare Originals With Scans
Well, that's what supermarkets do, isn't it. Advertise your product at twice the price for a few weeks, then sell everything half price and watch it fly!

Is it JUST and All The Kings Men stuff, or other Maceo related groups?

Larry Clinton
The issue copy which was sold on ebay came from a thrift store in Philly, so it seems very unlikely that only three were pressed. Judging from the label, that copy had been well used...

Gwen Owens "just Say You're Wanted" On Jm Auction
How can a pressing to replace a faulty withdrawn run be considered a re-issue? Also, you keep saying "2nd re-press" - there was an initial faulty pressing, which was then (as you say) re-pressed. A "2nd re-press" would constitute a third pressing after this? I find it hard to believe that somebody would split hairs with someone who spends so much time and effort, tirelessly tracking artists and vinyl and sharing their information, such as Andy Rix does. We would all do well to show a little more respect...

SOLD Was given a MAGMA DJ case for Christmas a couple of years back, and it's never been used - so thought I'd offer it on here, because I'm trying to de-clutter: https://magma-bags.co...glebag-300.php3 It holds 300 7"s in two lanes, and is fully padded on all sides with detachable lid and a flap for a few albums, headphones etc. And the real bonus? It's got an extendable trolley. The model pictured is camouflage (cool for dubstep DJs, perhaps not for the unassuming northern soul jock) - but this one is black and now out of stock everywhere. You can still find the discontinued camo ones for £94 on-line... and that's discounted from the full price of £120. I'm looking for £100 inc. shipping for this. It's never been used, and it's still in its cardboard box. Ideal gift - to yourself! SOLD PM if interested. Thanks for looking...

How Much You Paying For 7" White Mailers?
Is it just me? I hate those white mailers, when you open them the top rips to pieces. And peeling tape off them is nearly impossible. And pen smudges when you write on them. Brown card mailers all the way. Re-usable, made from re-cycled material, stronger.
