My tune at the moment is Ambassadors - Ain't Got The Love of One Girl (On My Mind) And to think I originally bought it for the other side. Obviously I'm not too bright sometimes.....
  3. On my blog this week I re-visted a bunch of soul tunes I hadn't thrown on in a while (preferring the funkier side of things these days). One exception: the Margie Joseph is a recent purchase..... https://three-sixty-five45s.blogspot.com/

I have been playing this in the car again and again as of late....seems to be my summer tune. Glad to hear others love it as much as me.

I love flea markets and thrift shops....usually the price is right for a few risks and if you find something you're actually after, it's even better. I stopped at a thrift shop last night & found an LP for 50 cents: The Soultown Symphony plays the best of the Detroit Sound (anvil 1001) Orchestra covers of Motown tracks......actually not terrible.

I've seen it several times at various record shows over here in the mid-Atlantic region of the States. Anyone know if this is the same Soul Patrol who put out the great funk 45s on Discovery & Zuma?

Come on, now. $600,000 is nothing for a 'legendary collection'.......
  14. That Ideals track is very nice.

And actually quite a good record, although it has nothing to do with northern soul. I'd like a copy myself.....

  20. Ebay will never take the place of going to a record shop or show, etc..., and having the immediate pleasure of finding a record you've been after (or something new & exciting) and walking out the door. I tend to use e-bay more as a resource for my record shopping that's done off-line. I try to note interesting 45s and then look for them in the field. Generally, with a bit of patience, I can find them for less than the e-bay price. Being on a budget, this is a good thing. Then again, spending the $$ to get a record you've been after the 'bay...feels real nice to mark it off the wants list......
  21. Some 45s on the 'bay ending in 2 days: Big Maybelle - 96 Tears Mel Torme - Comin' Home Baby Ben Collier BBSS - Walk Proud Harvey Farquart Express - California Dreaming https://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrppZ50QQfsooZ...QsassZfonkysoul
  22. I've heard the one with the strings. Anyone have a soundfile of the version without?
  23. Thanks for the information everyone. I knew there was a later pressing on Morning Glory - but now two distinct versions on De-To?? Wasn't expecting that.
  24. Been meaning to ask this... What's the going rate for Dee Edwards 'I Can Deal With That' on De-To? Thanks.
  25. Good to hear a new show. Thoroughly enjoying it.
