Yes, Sam has had it the last 6 months. I remember first night he played it in a big room. Think Arthur followed him. Then marc. I actually heard it 5 years ago from Callum in Australia and took me 2 years to secure one after that. As i said, I had a good 3 years out of it in the small rooms. Good to see it transfer into the big venues at last.

I was first playing it in Uk (at DDA) .for last 3 years in UK! Then Dave Rippoles! We were playing it exclusively during that period. Sold it now its getting hammered. Your a tad behind Marc.
  12. Well if you haven't seen it, may i suggest you shut the $%&* up then! I have seen it and therefore have a right to an opinion. You, however have not and therefore should get of your arse, see it and then make an informed comment, rather than the purile, very limited drivel you tend to spout along with Pete. Bless you both, if you found a third member we could film 'Last Of the Summer Whine'.
  13. Pete, unlike yourself and some others, I DO have morals and taste. When i first read this naff, insulting script in 2003/4, i wrote to the North East film board, who were funding part of it ,to complain that it was an insult to a socio/historical period that had an influence on many people and also that it was just a very bad script and requested that they withdraw funding! So, as your limited intelligence can hopefully deduce, i was NEVER going to be asked or involved in this trivial rubbish! Next assumption please ?
  14. Brilliant, I'd deffo wear the shirt. You can get one done for you, Pete S, Bogue etc that says: VACUOS DRIVEL IS TO OUR TASTE GO SEE 'SOULBOY' THE FILM IS ACE! or WE LOVE 'SOULBOY' BECAUSE ITS SO WELL ACTED, ITS THE DANCING AND SCRIPT TO WHICH WERE ATTRACTED.
  15. I would imagine you'd love this film Pete. Its as authentic as you and bogue are.

Heres a few clips of very varying tracks. I think the term 'funk' in any context , even when followed by soul, scares traditionalists. Its an innappropriate term really. But, will have to do i guess! Paul Sadot - Funky Soul Mix -
  17. Still not found one mate? I think it was also recorded underv another name on another label? Anyone? Ill be playing it Sayrday at Rugby....doesn't get anymore uptempo/ha!
  18. Went to see this last night and i was toatally shocked! Having read the script 5 years ago, i alkready knew it would be slack, BUT, thought i would give it a chance as some people on here are giving it good reports. MISTAKE! Jesus christ, this film is just f---king diabolically crap. What shocked me more, is that so called soul lovers and Wigan lovers , could like this rubbish! I went with 5 actors (good ones) to see it and without even going into the crap costumes, the same extras waliking through scenes cos they couldnt afford enough, the main guys trouisers being too long, the f---king appalling dancing, the fat extras dancing in the background etc, it was just the worst ACTING we had seen in a long , long time! It was so bad it was offensive. The two bad guys with stupidly deep voices,, the crap dancer bad guy with the pot belly and pills in every pocket, so that when he falls over they all fall on the floor! The 30 year old Danielle Henry cast as a teenager! The f---king ridiculous dance off at the end thats decided on the worst spins you have ever seen! Im still in shock from the film, but more from the people on here who can possibly like this stupid rubbish. Forget the Northern angle, its just one of the worst acted, written and directed films i have seen..REALLY! THe 3 guys on hidden trampettes who jump up in the dance scene, touching there toes like a scene from FAME.! The badly cut original footage (thats orange for some reason) that we have seen a million times before, that switches from busy Wigan to empty hall. The 'line dancing 'scene:ohmy: ! f--king hell! The scene where the girl OD's that just a rip from the 80's tv play and bloody ridiculous to boot! Did this film have no advisors on it? If it did, they were crap! The BREAK DANCER doing turtles on his back! Alfie Allen doing an impression of Martin Clunes! The record shop guy doing a crap 'Shameless' caricature. In fact thats why the acting is so awful, its all 1 and 2 dimensional caricatures and i cant believe that a director could cast so badly and direct even worse. This film just has NO DRAMA, its UNSEXY, and just plain BORING! I see why it has no release now. Its like a bad student film. Dont even bother with it when it comes out on DVD very soon, its annoyingly bad!

SOLD now to someone who actually wanted it. Why do people put wants up and then , when they get a response, do nowt!? Anyhow, worked out ok as its gone to a good home in UK.
  20. That is just the f---king pits. Do they know no embarrassment..

Hey as usual, facts are wrong Dave. There was a play in 80s and a tv film. But still, did my play 7 years ago, so bit of a f---king slow trend. But to say that the first (wasn't me) person to make a play about Wigan is responsible for the shite or good ones coming out now, would be like saying the first person to put a nighter or soul night on is responsible for the shite/good ones now! Its the maker of the play or promoter of the night, who is responsible for quality not the creator of the format. But jealousy runs deep, so enjoy. You started a trend for banality and it seems its catching on too. Best P
