Didnt even get up to make a brew during the show then i sat through the Standing in the shadows of Motown film also without moving.of my arse. Superb television such a travesty that it took so long for the Funk Bros to get the recognition that they so deserve. Loved it. Steve

That tune. One of my all time favs. How come all my fav tunes end up being so bloody expensive and out of my price range ? Or do i just have expensive tastes ( in records ) Steve

Can only speak from the Winsford point of view. Yeah five years back it was a struggling nighter but it was turned round with a lot of hard work and quite a considerable amount of money.And ended up as one of the best nighters in the country. It closed last week because the council owned building and land that it occupied was worth millions and when a developer came along and made the council an offer they could,nt refuse.That was the end of Winsford nighters. Pure economics as far as the coucil are concerned. Five nighters a year plus whatever else was run there could not compete financially. Steve

Just to put the record straight. When in Oct 08 at the last Winsford we were informed that the venue was closing in early 09 a decision was made to have a farewell nighter rather than just end it there and then and the only available date for the venue was the 7th Feb. Which on the night nobody involved with Winsford knew it clashed with the Rugby nighter. As soon as the clash was noticed i contacted Sian and explained what was going on. I even said i was sorry for the clash Which Sian to her credit accepted. I love the nighter at Rugby and would be there myself only for the clash. So please dont put Rugby down , if anything have a moan about Winsford. Thanks for taking the time to read this and wherever you end up on Sat have a great night. Steve
