  8. Make that seven tracks Steve "Lone Stranger" doesn't appear on any of the US 45s, found this on a Spanish RCA 45, had it as first reserve for my session at Yarmouth. Eddie Kendricks style ballad, I'll post it up in a suitable thread. Blake
  9. Has anyone got a nice condition copy of Vic Marcel "You still got me" RCA 0363 for sale? Does anyone know anything about this artist? I have most of his stuff which is consistantly good. I reckon RCA must have some material in the can........ Ady?? Blake

The Queens Hall was the major concert venue in Leeds at the time but many bands wouldn't play there because the steelwork in the roof (which was only just higher than a double decker bus) made the acoustics atrocious. I remember seeing the great Jnr Walker at the second one an he wouldn't do an encore and was booed, it turned out this was his third gig that night/morning and the poor guy was exhausted. Mixed memories but mostly bad I think there is a review in Black Music, I'll try and find it. Blake

  17. John Hillyard (California) had hundreds of copies of this in the 80s, brought a few over but struggled to sell them, btw did anyone go to Johns both in LA and his other place near SF? He was one strange guy but I came away with loads of goodies so didn't mind not being offered a drink for eight hours Blake
