A Flanny tip from back in the day if i remember? Great double-sider x
  2. Thanks for that Lofty, means a lot that does (seriously) Cheers Steve
  3. Come on peeps, you know it makes sense, get diggin' them LP's out
  4. Hi Ian You're right, a full set means not having to twiddle each time Many 60's LP's do have brighter mixes but not all! Garland Green Revue LP is well lo-fi whereas I've never had a problem with Clyde McPhatter LP as both tracks seem to bounce out the grooves!
  5. Of course Have had a couple in the last couple of years but don;t think i'll be getting many more as they seem to have them all on collectors frenzy
  6. Think it was around in quantity at one time? Most folks i know bought it same as me for a fiver or so about 20 years ago? It's got more exposure recently cos of the brilliant unreleased 'Sorry ain't the word' of course!
  7. Hey Boba can i now charge ebay x 4 for my copy i have for sale :wicked:
  8. Steve Plumb replied to Marcos's post in a topic in Record Wants
    I have one at https://www.soulmusic.co.uk/northern_originals_list.htm x
  9. and no, I don't have one for sale (before anyone says owt )
  10. I think at £60 a seller would have his arm bitten off right up to the shoulder? imho £100 is the going rate for an excellent condition copy due to real heavy demand from the 70's/crossover scene x
  11. Certainly do Steve! I've done an 100% LP-Only Set (OVO of course!) at Soul Essence for the last seven years. I started out doing them at The Orwell back in the day! I don't think i ever do a normal set without at least a couple of LP tracks and the sound isn't an issue if you remember to tweak your settings before and after each track you play! A good sound system does help though! I love me 45's but wouldn't be without me LP's when DJing Cheers Steve
  12. I have one on Paula for sale at https://www.soulmusic.co.uk/northern_originals_list.htm BUT it's the mis-pressing with 'How can one man live' on the label but plays 'Hung up on your love' It's way cheaper than the correct label too, currently at a ridiculous £40 :-)
  13. Our brothers and sisters in Oz are gonna be the hardest hit with the price increases? The PO have created a 'World Zone 2' which includes Oz and New Zealand! So along with the 'normal' increase for Air Mail (which is fairly big, including a rolling up of 4 weight ranges into 1) they get an extra increase on their asses for being in World Zone 2!
  14. Thanks Mick, much appreciated. I do deal with a few lads who work away a lot and virtually all of them point this out. I NEVER have a problem holding records for folks (sometimes for years, honest!) BUT you'd think if you worked away a lot, you'd have the decency to at least mention this? This isn't a money issue really, it's a decency/etiquette thing I do believe this particular case is different to that of the f**kers who deliberately f**k up auctions BUT it only takes a few seconds to write or reply to a message Cheers Steve
  15. Glen Ricketts - Does it really matter - SCR Very rare Jamaican Only 45 Crossover monster from 1973 VG++ (a few lite marks and a bit of writing on label - About 7 or 8 out of 10) £350 incl postage anywhere in de world
  16. Buddy Causey - There's a way - Capitol Got a coupel of folks asking me for this, so please let me know if you have a copy for sale - give me price and condition please NOT offers Cheers Steve
  17. Mac Davis - I'm just in love - Columbia 45 WANTED for a mate Please PM me with price and condition (Don't want any 'make me an offer' PM's thanks, just price and condition ) SORTED THANKS
  18. No that's not me - once you cancel a transaction you cannot leave feedback.........................but that is very interesting! Thanks for pointing it out, like i said, good for other sellers to be aware of the id Cheers Steve
  19. There's a thread about summat similar on 'All About The Soul' re Record Shop Day releases
  20. Hi Mark Yes, I'm well mate hope you are too? I think RSD releases should be made in quantities that sell out on the day and become instantly collectable. I think that was the original idea wasn't it? I guess any surplus (like in this case) can be sold to those of us that live nowhere near a quality record shop via t'internet and when they've gone, they've gone BUT (as in the case of 100 Club 45's etc) some folks will always 'get two' to sell on later, nature of the beast ain't it! Cheers Steve
  21. Hi Dave Yes, true, if it was the other way round, i'd be pissed IF i had got a proper reason If i had simply won an item and didn't take it any further, i think i'd expect naming though? Seeing as no one seems to know him, what i'll do is amend the title so it's just his ebay id then at least other sellers can be forewarned Cheers Steve
  22. Oh yes, you're right, you need to do it via messaging
  23. Kinell Dave there's a lot of stuff in there Sir? I think the biggest pitfalls are where you actually lose money by sending the goods out and having your parcels 'go missing' so the buyer gets his money back and you lose the records etc. Protecting yourself by having proper mailing policies is crucial in minimizing this kind of buyers scam. For example, someone came on to me last week and said they hadn't received their 45, i sent them a scan (from the Post Offices own 'track & trace' website) of their own signature from when they picked it up..................................strangely enough i haven't heard anything from them since LOL As far as not losing money in this case, no i didn't send the goods out but it's cost me in other ways. There does seem to be a wave of bidders going around ebay simply winning things and then disappearing. They do it a few times, then get booted off ebay, where they re-register and continue doing it etc Pete Smith has posted on here loads about the guy who keeps f**king up the rare reggae sales. It also happened to me recently with a very rare (£400+) boogie 12". F**ked me up completely and the second and third bidders didn't want to play ball afterwards (and who would blame them?) Naming and shaming - I'm not sure whether this particular guy is someone purposely bidding like above BUT it was over a £100 and because of the complete lack of communication from the buyer i decided (rightly or wrongly) to post the name and id up to get some sort of feedback. I did cover myself with post #2 and am quite willing to take it all back and publicly apologise should it turn out that there is a genuine reason for it. Hope this answers most of your questions? Cheers Steve
