Stardust Records
I like that stardust did the repress of "gonna be a big thing" with both the yum yums and sapphires versions on either side. I've fancied owning one of those for a bit, seems to be one of the harder to find though. no small wonder as both are fantastic!

Bargain Of The Century
99 cents for a "player" copy of Ann Sexton - You've Been Gone Too Long on the original yellow label...on EBAY! with free shipping too. Had to have it shipped to my mom's in California (seller wouldn't ship overseas) and wait ages for it, but it was well worth it.

Weekly Poll - Last Purchase Format Wise ?
Admittedly its been quite a while since I bought anything that didn't fall into the "20th century vinyl" bracket. And of those, I'd say about 95% have been 45s. I do collect lots of other genres of music, just in the last 2 years or so have been fixated on filling out my soul 45s collection. I'm sure you know how that goes! The last week-ish: The Chances - One More Chance (Bea & Baby) Crystal Motion - Your're My Main Squeeze (Sound Gems) (an extra copy) Barbara Mercer - Hey!! (Golden World) (replace my cue-burned copy) Derek Martin - If You Go/Count To Ten (Sue) Occasions - There's No You (Big Jim) Billy Sha-Rae - Do It (Spectrum green label) Dynatones - Fife Piper (HBR) Howard Tate - Glad I Knew Better (Verve) Ebb Tide - Give Me Your Best Shot (Sound Gems)

Different Record - Same Backing Track
How about ... September Jones - I'm Coming Home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6JANFjEo5M and Billy Sha Rae - Do It https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCtFOiTrH6Y Obviously they "funkified" the Billy Sha Rae version with extra percussion, guitars and piano but that backing track is a monster and both are dancefloor bombs in my opinion. Anyone know which cut came first?

on hold- How Long Can You Keep Your Record Player Going?
wish this had been going on (who knows, it might have) while I was living in the bay area- Tamala Lewis "you Won't Say Nothing" Lookalike
Have a single copy of this mega rare tune on a "lookalike copy" boot. Not sure if this is the same as the orange label ones commonly seen, it appears to have labels cheaply printed on computer. Blue labels like the original press, deffo not an original pressing though! VG++. asking £15, shipping from Denmark £3.50. pics upon request!- How Long Can You Keep Your Record Player Going?
Couldn't agree more! I have a stock TD-150mkII that was manufactured for Tandberg, a Norwegian stereo manufacturer, with matching receiver and speakers that I picked up for extremely cheap at a charity shop in Sweden. It came sans headshell and that was a bit difficult to source, but otherwise everything else for the 150's is pretty easy to get ahold of. The thing does sound truly incredible.- Talcum Powder
At Backstreet Northern Soul Club here in Copenhagen, they've devised a pretty clever plan for the use of talc. Keep in mind, I've never made it over to any do's in the UK so I can't say for sure its very original, but it works really well and keeps the floor from being over-saturated with it. Up in the front of the room in the corner near the decks, they just dump out a large amount in one spot. That way, if you'd like some, you can just go over and dip your shoes in without accidentally spilling out too much. People track it across the floor over the night which means its in general a little bit more slick, but its not like accidentally stepping into a part of the floor absolutely flooded with it. Works like a charm and means everyone gets the right amount they want to use. - Sounds For All Tastes And Budgets
