Really feel for the guys on here. I used to help run a Friday Northern Night in a small market town called Evesham back in the day and everyone knew everyone, but it still didn`t stop someone taking some of my records whilst I had my back to my boxes. Let`s hope we all get the Christmas we deserve...
  2. Hi, Just picked up Marsha Brody which the seller states it books at £20 so I`d assumed it was an original. It`s red print on a silver background but something tells me it`s a pressing. Any clues please??
  3. An original is way out of my league, but I think this was pressed at some stage?? Anyone used this guy and is it kosher - alarm bells ring with me for some reason... https://www.musicstack.com/item/72277099 Thanks, Pete
  4. Amen to that...
  5. Sorry Mike if it was me.
  6. Our old friend ( ) Tony Blackburn looks at Tamla Motown on Radio 2, Monday at 10pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03ln8q0
  7. Oh, I do hope it`s not been played out.........
  8. OK - school report reads must try harder!!
  9. Same here. I just can`t find quality, raw 60s Northern at a fiver or better still 3 for a tenner for love nor, well, money .
  10. Link comes up as Not Found??
  11. Anyone want to PM me with their sales as above?? Thanks!
  12. I for one am very interested in buying those sort of records - I came back to the music last year after a 32 year absence having sold my previous collection back in the day. So I`m looking to build a half decent collection a bit at a time, on a limited budget and would be in the market for quality 60s stuff < £10 in excellent condition (label & vinyl) and the cheaper the better please - I sure ain`t loaded!
  13. They walk amongst us...
  14. Simon is spot on here - I too have returned to the music after a break of 32 years and felt out of my depth when starting to build a collection again but the advice/ knowledge from the guys on here has been first class.

Is it just me or is the theft of records becoming more prevalent - a sign of the times perhaps? Really hope the guy gets them back and the perpetrator gets what`s coming.

I`m not in denial personally - I never, ever did drugs and still maintain that the coach I occasionally went on was drug free too, however I accept that I/we were probably in the minority. I guess the majority of those on gear would have been on the dancefloor, whereas I was a crap dancer and limited myself to shuffling at the back of the main room.

Same here Andy, all my money went on getting there and buying records, and the music was enough of a drug for me. Didn`t last all night but was one of the Lucozade gang who gave it a good go. Sometimes went on a coach and none of those 40 odd took drugs either. These days I like to think that Wigan was a platform for the scene to build and grow from.

Well said Baz. I went most weeks from 1977 to the End Of An Era Nighter and will never forget the atmosphere, the whip crack clapping, Searling`s sets etc. Oh to be taken back - I`d savour every minute as if it were my last, not to mention picking up all those records I wasn`t sure of back in the day but which are mega bucks today. The best experience of my life and I really don`t think anything will ever equal it. The Casino transported me to a place where the only thing that mattered was the music and the dancing and the outside world was just that - outside. We Brits have a habit of bigging things up, only to snipe and sneer and try and bring them down, so I ignore any criticism or ridiculing of Station Road safe in the knowledge I have my memories...
  20. Ted, I`m disappointed in your spelling of disappointed
  21. Pete makes a valid point here - I know caveat emptor and all that, but apart from checking Popsike (which includes often inflated and unrealistic ebay prices) and this site, I trust the seller to advertise records at the perceived going rate.
  22. Not flak exactly - rather one man`s meat and all that. Just remember hearing this for the first time at Station Road under atmosphere, and got the tell tale goose bumps. Would agree that it was absolutely hammered thereafter though
  23. I`m still a relative newbie on here, rekindling my love of the music and record collecting after a 30+ year break so apologies if this has been done before. My wife asked me why the scene had/ has Allnighters (presumably Alldayers came later) and I couldn`t answer her. Anyone enlighten me please?? Thanks & regards, Pete
  24. Another vote here for the slithering reptile... How that ever got played out God only knows
