  6. Forget the fella's name now, sold soul/northern records in the new indoor market in Llandudno's mostyn street and went to Mr Paul's in Rhyl to by Benn's,brutus and Pigalle shirts and wrangler jeans, went down the Palace in Rhyl (not for the feint hearted),think I saw Ritchie Andrew and fellons there, sorry for goin slightly off subject,oh and you could have your DM's re- soled(no pun intended) at Briggs in Colwyn Bay.
  7. Yep the Colwyn bay pier pavilion was named Dixieland, went there as an alternative to Paynes or Winter gardems in Llandudno,we are talking early seventies, mixed bag of music, some northen some top twenty stuff and also live heavy bands for some strange reason. Loads of scrapping goin on! Went to have a look at the old place last year....dancefloor has bits of hardboard nailed over several holes, there is a large hole in the stained glass roof, totally f*cked in my opinion, very sad, still, happy memories! Oh and no never went to the alldayers, why, I don't remember,Chico and Mark Bicknell are the guy's to ask.
  8. Well said John,is there a new bootleg guide due?,had mine for years now, saved a few red faces I'll say, what would the scene do without your guides, nice one.

Just started categorising my collection into which part of the USA they originate from. Now apart from the obvious, reading record labels and or checking Mr Manship's site aswell as music styles akin to certain areas, wondered if it is ever possible to acheive 100% on this and also any of you anoraks out there can throw up any tips here.

A good read for the youngsters in todays northern scene which relates fairly well to this thread has been written by a guy on the scene who is about my age and who's time on the scene has followed a very similar pattern to mine. His pen name is Maxwell Murray and the book is titled CRACKIN UP and is published by Moonshine Fiction.
