The 20 Most Valuable Records In The World
Allegedly a G5 was coming to WFMU this year but didn't see if so, know another Denise was amusingly found right after the ebay one but dinked, don't know if that ever got flipped, from your comment guess 1 or 2 more finally surfaced too. As to George's comment that he was in the presence of a Greg Barr.....aaaagh!! (cue explosion until I can steal the Tardis to go back 25 years).

The 20 Most Valuable Records In The World
<<>>> Haha I wish mate, at one point had 3 mint copies of that filed together How much did the Velvet Underground alternate version of their 1st lp go for, close to 6 figures not 5, and bought at the 26th St flea market for what, $10 or so, hard to beat that one

Anyone Know This....?
Mine arrived yesterday too.....in the dreaded plastic bag from the UPS with the message printed on it apologising for "damaging your parcel" whilst of course studiously avoiding saying they're going to compensate you for it, not a good moment but luckily the seller did a fine job packaging it that it withstood the post office's attempts to cause any real harm and inside was a pristine mint copy, phew.

The 20 Most Valuable Records In The World
Re the garage 45 suggestions 2 Psychotrons (great record!) changed hands in private deals last year, a Beer went through ebay not too long ago, a Denise & Co went to Barry Wickham for $10k after the ebay auction was pulled. And if anyone ever puts up a Gregg Barr I'll be maxing out my credit card if needs be

R&b, Northern, Deep
Make that 2 as I have a mint sleeve/45, agree it is pretty darn rare with/without the sleeve
-
R&b, Northern, Deep
LITTLE CHARLES Kangaroo / My Girl RAINBOW E+ You don't make any mention of it so wondering if you have it in the (great) picture sleeve? He was also involved with the wonderful James Lynn Marsh 45 on the label.

Lee Jennings Mispress On Dottys?
103A and 103B, also each side has 95, clearly a mistake as Lost Love was Ten High 102.
-
Lee Jennings Mispress On Dottys?
What's on the flip of the Del Northern version? The Ten High one has "I need you" - ie same as the Roger Hatcher on Dotty's, which is a nothing special midtempo ballad - but this Lee version has the whole instrumental of the track which is a real bonus
-
Lee Jennings Mispress On Dottys?
Platters is the same track but done far weaker, plinky plonk piano and not great vocals - do like a lot of their stuff but not this one
-
Lee Jennings Mispress On Dottys?
Not much more info for you sadly, the 45 came from a house clearout in Detroit, was the only copy and no clues to it's provenance before then
-
Lee Jennings Mispress On Dottys?
The happy ones (hopefully!) will be the lucky folks at our Syl Johnson show tonite, as well as Syl destroying the stage they'll be getting to hear the Lee Jennings back-to-back with the Little Roger Hatcher, funnily both are kinda mis-presses as the LRH is the one that was found on a Ten High label instead of Dotty's / Del Nita Northern, the strange old world of Northern Soul eh.
-
Marilyn Calloway - Shut Up / My Lover - Ajax Nm
Same backing track as a good Sugar and Sweet side
-
Lee Jennings Mispress On Dottys?
Even when there was a discussion on the Dotty's label on SoulfulDetroit - and those guys beyond know their stuff - there was no mention of this
-
Mary Johnson "i`m Tired" Boo-Ga-Loo
I clearly hear the sound of several people sighing in relief they didn't take a punt on it hoping it was an unknown dancer!!

Anyone Know This....?
Looks like the seller had 5, seems to have stopped relisting after sales, got one of them based on your recommendation, many thanks very much agree it's a winner.

Soul Great Syl Johnson Finds 'justice' At Last
Great write-up for us in Time Out New York today https://newyork.timeout.com/music-nightlife/music/616001/syl-johnson

Pat Hodges - Hme 1St & 2Nd Press
All came from "old" sources, no reason to believe both weren't done around the same period for whatever reason, not a recent press by any means
-
Pat Hodges - Hme 1St & 2Nd Press
I've had 7-8 of these, kept one of each lettering style, went as high as $1,500 to funk collectors when it was a total unknown, has dropped somewhat now but still not an easy record, total dancefloor destroyer.
-
Jesse Thomas - Bases Are Loaded - Tail Gate
I've a spare too, great little 45.

Rare And Obscure 60's & 70S Original 45S
Murge also came out on a different label from Scepter with a different take credited to the vocalist

Rare Girl Group Dancer
Darn sight better than the Dora Hall version too!
