What with Joe Hicks in a greenhouse , Plumby and his " Flowers " and then Benny Harper in the potting shed in Texas! JA's solid reputation for leaving no stone unturned (or garden unearthed ) when it came to digging for records..... and whilst we're talking of BHarper and "Texas " TX being one of the great American states famous for two types of "Black Gold" ....1) fabulous vinyl finds ...2) but cannot remember what the other stuff is for the life of me ? Chased this for numerous years -first recall Graham Ellis aquiring this via JA at SB records ( it was virtually a unknown back then ) eventualy nailing a copy down !!! phew and was well pleased .... then grabbing 10 spare copies from an American source - sold all 10 copies out of my sale box in a record time of about 15 minutes for £15 each - defo not a one track album - pure brilliant 70s Detroit group soul !!! And if my memory serves me right theres more than a connection with this session/sessions and Jack Ashfords Hotel Sheet album from the same era (studio/musicians etc etc ) ??? Super Soul and some ...... tfk

Watched last nite - fabulous stuff , essential viewing with some great music and footage .
Can't wait Kev because the last time Gilly and Nicola were guesting with Deanio twas great music and top cat banter..... - Andy Dennison kindly put it on CD for me .so fingers xed hoping for a copy of Weds show ... Hope your well BTW ... regards Andy

Some fabulous story's so far - As well as John being tops with the 60s and Northern, Group and deep soul there were also fantastic stuff waiting to be grabbed on those Soulful Dance and Coast to Coast independant sales sheets too ....used to love checking out the new small label stuff ... . tfk
