  5. Just a shout out to inform 'local' soulies that Drax Power station, largest Multi-Fuel Power Station in the UK, have just made a wonderful donation of £400.0 to Charity Soul. This goes towards our 'goal' for 2016 to achieve a cumulative donation total of £50,000.0, which coupled with a recent contribution of £300.0 made by some local cycling business executives who entered a team in the recent ETAP rally in France, sporting Charity Soul T-shirts, makes this seemingly impossible figure a reality KTF

  8. £36,000.00 in 36 Months The photo below shows Charity Soul’s youngest member (and possibly the youngest dj on the soul scene) Lilly Miller presenting a cheque for £4,000.0 to Professor Norman Maitland to aid the on-going stem cell research into finding a cure for Prostate Cancer. This current donation from Charity Soul brings the cumulative total of donations made to the cancer research work at York University to £36,000.00, all achieved in the space of 36 months since the inception of Charity Soul. The organisation is made up of a team of volunteers who donate their services free, along with a dedicated group of prominent dj’s from around the UK who also give there time to Charity Soul and do not receive any financial reward whatsoever. The aspiration for Charity Soul is to achieve a donation figure of £50,000.00 by the end of 2016 If you would like to help Charity Soul in its quest and make a donation no matter how small please go to: https://www.justgiving.com/charitysoul
  9. Best event for me (and Mrs H. H) is the Leeds Central Descending the steps in the Central is like entering a Tardis and stepping back in time. This place OOZES atmosphere, as one guy said ".....if you could bottle the atmosphere here you would make a small fortune", this place is so nostalgic and different from the eponymous, souless (excuse the pun) events held in various hall's around the UK,............ Leeds Central, small, crammed, low ceiling small dance floor, outstanding music and DJ's ...........................................................................I just love it, if you were around in the sixties/seventies this is the place to re-kindle the memories Dave
  10. Cannot agree more, we have had scheduled for 2016 in the months that have 5 Saturdays ie January, April . July and October our Cancer fundraising all-dayers at Harroagate. This has been arranged since July this year, and low and behold a LOCAL promoter has decided to run additional events, extra to his normal monthly events, which by some strange coincidence clash with these long term arranged dates. Although these 'new' events are not in Harrogate it DOES cause conflict with people who want to attend and support both events. Talk about Glasgow ice cream wars ...................................In the words of the immortal Mick Morgan "..........................ah carn't spake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. No the pub that is the curru hose part of the Aagrah was called 'the Wild Man,' the club on the A64 York Rd Leeds to York I think was called the Highway man, remember Ellison's Hogline as they inevitably ended up as 'stand-in acts' for some of these who for one reason or another 'failed to trap'' in the mid sixties 65/66 we would be constantly duped by the guy that promoted the above and the club on the A64, the acts would do a double spot, one at the Highwayman one at Cas, IF THEY ACTUALLY appeared they guy was an absolute con merchant, I know his name, initials KD, and Ellison's would be the fall guys havin to stand in. I believe he also had some thing to do with this at the Crystal Bowl the only big 'name' actually appear was Junior Walker and the All Stars, ........Jefferson's Airplane at Cas, as Jim Royale would say my arse. But a happy happy days
