What a sad piece of TV and I’m so glad I was able to watch it later and skip through all 1hr of garbage .... Hope Mark King will be a little better , but this Vintage load of cheese certainly hasn’t matured that well at all 👎 Big thumbs down

So , Internation Soul Club always used the Black clenched fist as their logo , but I’ve never seen this on any Torch related stuff other than the flyer posted here and the repro one on eBay . Does anyone have any others ? That said , it did get used a lot around this time and don’t forget the 1968 Olympics with Tommie Smith and John Carlos , infamous human rights salute .

Nice selection , and set but .... Wouldn’t this set be really nice coming out in a vinyl limited edition box set format , something on the lines of Numero Groups - Eccentric Soul’s 45 x 45 box set . https://www.numerogroup.com/products/eccentric-soul-omnibus-vol-1 This came with a small hard cover book relating to the artists and maybe you could also put a limited edition patch in with it ? CD’s are convenient for sure , but don’t we all just love putting on that black wax on the turntable . Costs may prevent this happening , but it’s nice to dream . 🙄

Well from my point of view , I had thought it a bit strange that it hadn’t been posted on here a lot earlier .. I’m no longer a regular on the scene , and only do the occasional nighter but loads and loads of live gigs ... Considering the London gig was at a really well know venue , I would have thought that there would be more 100 Club regulars that knew about this gig . I found out about it the week before the gig , through “ Twickets “ website , which sells tickets for gigs at list price or less ... well happy at the price I paid . And what a great venue to see Kool and the Gang at Christmas ... can’t wait for “ Open Sesame “ 👍

Yea mate , 100 Club ... Great gig and both sang their hearts out ... and came out after for signings .. Not full and more around for Spencer than Percy ... and then both sang together for last 3 or so songs ... A good night

Out early next year is a new book from Easy of The Eye books is a work called " Boom Boom Boom Boom ". It focuses on the work and pictures of Brian Smith, who documented most of the events and nights of the Twisted Wheel. Great wining choice last night for the Mercury Prize ... a real new talent, born in London to parents from Sierra Leone . I saw this guy play an acoustic set in a pub in Cricklewood 4 years ago and was blown away ... Now this 👍 Check the album out

"Cheap as Chips " has kind of gone for sure...and Chips are now bloody expensive in London But bargins are out there if you hunt and have the time ... smaller charity shops can turn up some real finds as can your local independent record store .. ive found a few at mine in Watford https://thelpcafe.com/

Have to say a wonderful night at the RAH , but all to short apperarnces from some of the masters of the Stax label. Sat next to Trevor Nelson so some good banter . Very fit looking Eddie Floyd , William Bell looking very dapper ... and Tom Jones still belts out a tune.Booker T on keyboards and the ledgend that is Steve Cropper on guitar . Have to agree , James Morrison stole the show for me too ... Great night but needed an interval and another 2 hrs of music ( just being greedy ) 👍
