DETROIT A-GO-GO PRIVATE LIVE STREAM VIA FACEBOOK LIVE FRIDAY OCTOBER 23RD 2020. STARRING THE CONTOURS, PAT LEWIS, CAROLYN CRAWFORD, SPYDER TURNER, JNR WALKERS ALL STAR BAND 10PM - 11PM BST. During these very difficult impossible times the Soul Scene has very much been put on hold all major venues, weekenders, Allnighters, Soul nights are all suspended until further notice, one major event sadly cancelled is Detroit A-GO-GO which was scheduled to happen in Leeds in October, now fingers crossed it has been re scheduled for next July at the Cleethorpes weekender, everyone has been affected by this pandemic in terms of being able to function as ENTERTAINERS, DJ's and PROMOTERS of Soul events, the artists who gave us this music in the first place those who survive are unable to perform in America resulting in little or no income, pretty much the same for many people right now, recently Carolyn Crawford and Pat Lewis have done LIVE PERFORMANCES VIA FACEBOOK LIVE where people could make a donation if they so wished to basically help these wonderful people out so much so Phil & Kim Dick, Neil Rushton have put together another Live Stream direct from a venue in Detroit set to happen on Friday October 23rd this will be a PAY FOR VIEW EVENT @ $15.00 Approx £12.60 based on two people viewing the show, this is no hard sell or must do but it's a small price to pay for what is a unique Soul Scene first, this event will be a professional live feed, performed in a NON audience venue in Detroit, PA engineers, filming crew, artists etc. are pretty much doing this for a very small amount of money but it does have costs to be able to do this, there is a break even figure to make this happen so we all know the SOUL SCENE can pull together on this to make it happen and I for one know we need a little joy right now in this shit storm we are all in. Well I suppose maybe someone’s trying to make a quick buck by selling a copy before the release date. Or more likely ensuring that nobody buys it before then. But it will be officially released on October 24th and performed live at the Hotel st Regis, Detroit at the launch party. i have copies now here in U.K., but they won’t be going out until October 24th earliest

Got the box set. Pretty good IMO. A couple of gripes though. 1. The labels on the 45's don't look just like the 60's releases - no writer, publisher credits, no timings and no J/G logo 2. The sound quality on the 45's leaves a little to be desired in that they are very quiet. They appear to be very compressed on the vinyl only using. in a couple of cases, half the available space 3. One side of the "unreleased" Barbara Mason 45 is actually "Ain't Got Nobody" (exactly same mix) with a different title on the box set 45 label
