I got into Minidisc very early on. Early 90s. 1993 maybe. I still have my first portable player the Sony MD1 Also have a MD recorder hifi.

Got the box set. Pretty good IMO. A couple of gripes though. 1. The labels on the 45's don't look just like the 60's releases - no writer, publisher credits, no timings and no J/G logo 2. The sound quality on the 45's leaves a little to be desired in that they are very quiet. They appear to be very compressed on the vinyl only using. in a couple of cases, half the available space 3. One side of the "unreleased" Barbara Mason 45 is actually "Ain't Got Nobody" (exactly same mix) with a different title on the box set 45 label

Excellent! Remember them at the time, think I've still got Issue 1 somewhere. In which I'm proud to feature in two of the charts - "Best Downers" and "People Who Know Nothing About Records" Quality!

It is, to put it simply, a bootleg. Investigations are ongoing to find the source of these, and when this is established they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I will, if necessary, spend any profits made from this release and more too to ensure a successful prosecution. Phil
